Nightie Night

NEW YORK — Old-world romance is in the air for spring as designers look to vintage nightgowns for inspiration. Whether in charming eyelet, fresh lace or floaty tulle, these sweet dresses are sure to be a hit among the young Hollywood set.

I love lingerie inspired dresses! It's so beautiful and feminine... Hmm and I heard that the french spend so much on lingerie per year =)

this is the type of stuff I LIVE for. I would start to post pictures of looks I love from the runway, but I would end up taking up like six pages...so...I'll restrain myself. :)

No, please post! I love this look too. ^_^

I wonder if the dresses are going to be better that during the nightie trend in the 90s..

^ I certainly hope so. I can be it being sweeter, floatier and more feminine than the 90's spin. those pics you posted, maraschin0, are lovely. thank you. ^_^

ha, the dresses from the 90's seemed to have been going for "tarty", "cheesy", "sl*tty". These seem to be going more for feminine and romantic. I can't resist, I think I will post some pics later...

What a fantastic topic!! My favorite designers (Rochas, La Perla) take inspiration from vintage lingerie or lingerie in general!

um..i like this style and instead of boho i was thinking more minimalist and maybe harsh details, like dark boots/heels or (instead of the infamous sequin flats), no bangles and excessive accessories either, maybe combined with a coat with a bit contrasting style.

^ yeah, the slip is NOT boho...pair it with sharp contrasts, such as a lacy nightgown inspired cami paired with skinny black trousers, or as mliis suggested, a slip with a chic coat.

been wearing old vintage slips as tops & dresses for as long as i can remember . . . :heart:
some ppl often feel the need to ask me whether i'm wearing a nightie ? :lol:
ofcourse i am . . in a conscious way . . i did dress myself you know ! ^_^

utopia is right !
this look is a million miles away frm BOHO :doh:
v.chic & sharp if you want . . . or relaxed & quirky . . .

a few looks . . . {mods . . are we allowed to post non-catwalk pics in 'trend spotting'}
