Tom Cruise gets South Park episode pulled

Hum ... anyone who's got enough power to shut an episode on a country which supposedly has free speech is utterly CREEPY .... Tom Cruise is a twat!

I'm in agreeance with the rest of the posters....tom cruise does suck. And it really makes me wonder will his movie do well in the US since he's on a downward spiral with the american people

You know DLG8, I wouldn't be surprised if MI:3 is one of the biggest summer blockbuster hits here in the U.S.. Some people probably don't care about the Scientology/South Park controversy. they just want to be entertained. it doesn't surprise me at all that tom cruise and the church of scientology have the power they do in Hollywood.

And for Isaac Hayes....

wow.....all the judgement here, of someone we dont even know.....
'jerk' 'moron'...... it just goes on and on.....

you all have a right to your free speech.....as does tom.....
but why all the hostility?.....if you dont agree with his faith, or his life, or his relationship, MOVE ON.....

its sad to watch so much be misunderstood.....
i dont know tom, but i know some marvelous people who believe in scientology and use it to do wonderful things.....
and i doubt tom is half the fruitcake everyone makes him out to be.....

dont believe everything you read people........:innocent:....

I know the word "hate" is a strong word, but when it comes to Tom Cruise, I'm saying it....."I hate tom cruise" :P Ever since this whole Katie Holmes and him doing that PDA and sh*t I can't stand him and I boycott from seeing all his movies, because imo he doesn't deserve to get any profit off of me at the movies. His "I'm out to get you" "I'm going to sue you for that" is getting way overrated!!! He's disturbing and I can't stand him!!! :ninja:

Its not that I hate Tom Cruise, I just object to a celebrity using his own personal opinions and power to dictate what the masses can and cannot see on television.

I don't get these people that are so upset by broadcasting that they say offends them. Bad dj's offend me, cheesy manufactured pop music offends me...so you know what...I don't listen to bad dj's and I choose not to listen to cheesy pop music.

What I don't get, is how Tom Cruise reckons he has the right not to be offended. Everyone has stuff that annoys them, but they get on with it.

Hmm. Tom's actions are probably going to have the opposite effect of what he intended. I want to see the episode now just to spite him. LOL.

Tom Cruise can take his scientology crap and shove it. He really does think he is above all doesn't he? I don't watch South Park anyway, but I know that they have made fun of every other kind of religion out there and I honestly don't call scientology a religion but a cult. So it's ok for them to make fun of other forms of worship but not ok for them to make something out of scientology. Why can't we just go back to the days when all Tom Cruise was known for was acting in movies playing drivers/pilots/barmen who dated frizzy haired women?

Now *those* were the days ... :stuart:

i completely respect your opinion, fashion puss....
and thanks for sharing it....

i wonder why people who are annoyed by tom cruise cant 'get on with it' though, as you suggested.....
he's annoyed by things, and obviously so are the public..... so why do people going around saying they 'hate' him and calling him all sorts of ridiculous names and passing judgement when this is EXACTLY what they apparently 'hate' that he does....??

THAT is what perplexes me about people....
they complain....and they react with behaviour that just imitates that which they're annoyed by.....
how is hating tom cruise any better than tom cruise banning a south park episode?.....i'm sure if some people had the power, they'd try to ban tom cruise from speaking his mind on certain issues.....

 :innocent:

adorefaith, I think maybe what's so annoying is that when a celeb like Tom speaks, because of our culture he has a megaphone rather than just one person's voice like you and me ... and when he also seems to be the primary "front" person for a group of rich, powerful, and controlling fringe religious folks, it's just pretty scary ...

WELL BLOODY SAID!!!!!! KARMA KARMA KARMA.

Funny how he's never seemed to care about South Park before until now - when they hit something personal to him. He's never lashed out when they attack Christianity, or anything else they've made fun of...

Exactly. South Park is an equal opportunity offender, it's poked fun at practically everything and everyone. This behaviour is just a testament to his and Isaac's hypocritism and arrogance.

I think it's more a testament to the really bad PR skills of the Scientology people. They make themselves look so bad

If Tom Cruise wanted to make people want to see this episode more than ever than he is going the right way about it.

He should've just let the show air and then come back and say "You know it's not meant to be taken seriously".... because HELLO! it's South Park! They make fun of everyone from Canadians, Jesus, Streisand and the list goes on....

I think its interesting that now Tom Cruise has said something about it ... More people are going to watch it than the number of people that would have seen it had he not said a thing...

but anyway it is a funny episode:innocent:

What a nut job. I happen to love that episode; I remember watching it at my friend's house and we both laughed ourselves silly. As if I needed any more reason NOT to see MI:3.
