Nina Ricci F/W 09.10 Paris

Very first thought upon opening this thread and seeing that first Carmen Miranda look was "HOLY SH!T" and not in a good way.

MY god, when I complained about last season not making a statement, this is not at all what I had in mind.

finally...

All i wanna know is; how many of the models have become victims of the shoes  and which ones went under?!:p

I need to see the whole collection asap. Today has been a total nightmare. First Balenciaga, now Ricci! Ok, so I've not been thrilled with the past few Ricci collections anyway, but this is...unsettling to say the least.

I just don't understand what has gotten into Theyskens. Not that he should have to create dainty, elegant clothes every season, but this posseses none of the poetry, romance or beauty of a Theyskens collection. These shoes alone are enough to make me believe that this collection is a big "f*ck you" to the Nina Ricci bosses for ousting him (if he is indeed ousted, which I hope he is...Nina Ricci + Theyskens is no longer a healthy relationship).

TELL ME ABOUT IT!!! I think im gonna cry! Balenciaga was such a disappointment, and even though I have a feeling that Im gonna like this collection I feel like its gonna come out cheap and drag queeney- actually it already kinda has lol

OMG. I love this (minus the hats). Glad to see that Theyskens is leaving on a high note. The shoes are INCREDIBLE. The higher the better in my opinion. Can't wait to see more..

And here I thought 'Theyskens' and 'drag queen' were words that could never be used in the same sentence...ever.

^EXACTLY my thoughts!! This was just unpredictable. It hit me like an earthquake, but this look like a lot more serious. Actually u could probably start an earthquake with those shoes.

Olivier Theyskens just presented what we hear was a stunning fall collection for Nina Ricci in Paris. Rumors have been circulating for months of design differences between Theyskens and Mario Grauso, the head of Puig Fashion Group, which owns Ricci. Rumor had it Theyskens was out at the house, but his show turned up on the Paris schedule, revealing no unrest on the surface. The show went on today and the rumors haven't died down — the word going around Paris is that Grauso actually fired Theyskens, whose contract isn't up until October, but that Theyskens won't leave. And according to reviews of the collection trickling in from showgoers, Ricci designed with a fighting spirit, sending out a gorgeous, romance-infused, hard-rock-inspired collection. Theyskens has the chance to present one more collection for Ricci before his contract runs out. But if the reviews pour in positively and this collection sells better than his last, will Grauso change his mind? Will Theyskens say "no more drama" and strike out on his own? This is better than The Hills and The City combined!

lol thats funny, i dont want him to leave either. SOmeone should fire Grauso

But seriously, how on earth will this sell better? It dosent seem to me like Olivier set out to achieve that with this collection, more like the opposite.
