Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2010

Oh stop saying Olivier was THAT better...do we really want to see those those drag queen shoes again?
Give the avant-garde job to Mcqueen

That was one season.

Copping has diluted the house to the point where it just becomes a chore to look at the collections now.

Theyskens left, and it all went downhill from there.

I think it's still a little early to say something like that, after all, Copping has only been there a couple of seasons. And it's not like Ricci had a really established look or following from most anyway.

Also, I'm looking at this and seeing just as much of an homage to Theysken's early work at Rochas (albeit a relaxed take on it) as I am influences from Lanvin. Just food for thought.:flower:

I'm not really seeing the Lanvin influence everyone is referring to. I'm seeing more Burberry than anything else.

do we really want to see those those drag queen shoes again?

Yes, yes and yes. I don't think I would ever get bored of those shoes.

This is boring and more than that just not good.

Also the presentation of the clothes is not helping much.

hmm i really not sure - on the one hand on its own "collection" isn't that bad - yes not coherent and little over the place but good made 40s classic looks which never et down their clients , on the other hand - it's Nina Ricci - that's why i don't like it. It's not right , just not.

those fur pieces peak my interest and those pants are quite quirky.

That was one season.

I was just about to point that out, he did it once.

Nothing really exciting so far, but then again that's what quite a part of the pre-fall presentation tend to be, so I'm gonna wait for the runway show in March.

^yes, and i believe he did it once to make a point. it showed just what sort of untapped potential he had methinks.

this collection looks like Burberry, Lanvin and Chloe all mashed up. very
uninspiring, we've seen these before. the designs are alright, wearable. and
downright dull. Olivier would've made something really eyecatching, or something
completely unexpected. i'd rather settle for his crazy, colorful designs, than
pore over something drab.

but well, this is just a PreFall collection anyway, the whole point is to sell, not
to be overly striking, so what the heck

The collection was a bit disappointing. It feels so dull to me. I do like the sweater dress trend but thats it.
