MEMORABLE MOMENT: My first season in NY I got lost so many times, circling for blocks and blocks. I wound up taking cabs everywhere, even though I would often find that my next casting was just 2 blocks away from the where I was – hahaha. Everything looked confusing. What’s Queens? What’s Brooklyn? What’s downtown? What’s uptown? What direction is east, west, north, or south? And what kind of number is this: 350 W. 36th St? I didn’t know anything about America, but I had to figure out everything my first show season. It was very challenging. For lots of the castings, now, I can make a plan for where I should go first and last based on the address. I don’t have to take a cab anymore. Everything seems much easier because I don’t have to ask people things like, “Where is this place? What street are we on?” Plus, my English was so horrible my first season that I couldn’t even ask that much. With season after season, my English got better by learning from models, friends, and clients. Because of modeling and fashion weeks I learned a lot of things quickly. I still can’t forget how fun my first season was, just being in NY for the first time and getting to know the city because of the castings.
