The comments are in Norwegian, but you'll see some great outfits!

Kristian will also be showing at Milan Fashion Week in Febuary.

Hehe.. I actually think this is just a project.. He'll be showing under his own name at Milan Fashion Week...?

Background: Kristian Aadnevik (28) from Bergen, Norway is educated as a tailor and has a masters degree from The Royal College of Art i London, where he lives. He's worked as Alexander McQueens assistant, and as head designer for Charles Jourdan Paris for Japan. His collections are being sold in England, USA, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, Dubai and Norway. The F/W 08 that's being showed in Febuary is his 6th collection.

L’UOMO VOGUE presents KRISTIAN AADNEVIK
by Angelo Flaccavento

Born in Norway and educated at the Royal College of Art in London, the 29 years old Kristian Aadnevik combines the technical knowledge of a skilled couturier with the charm of a screenwriter. Undecided between fairytale and horror, he explains: “For me every collection is like a film starring the heroines I dress; plots and stories change, but my muse remains the same, she is the protagonists who evolves and explores life.”
After working for Harrods International and Charles Jourdan in Japan, in 2004 Kristian decided to start his own label – sexy, gloomy, opulent and smoothly glamorous- earning at once the title of London’s “next big thing”. “What I find truly fascinating in fashion - he continues - is that one becomes part of a social evolution. Dressing people, or simply influencing their sense of style, you have the possibility of creating a new world, your own.” Kristian Aadnevik ´s world is made of contrasts: the gothic and the romantic entangled in a sort of disco nightmare, a deliberately decadent atmosphere, sinfully innocent and encrusted with luscious details.
“I try to create something truly original inspired by history and experience - the young designer explains - my philosophy also reflects the importance of luxury and sex appeal.”
Kristian’s future looks bright -
but appropriately dark.

I can't really judge from these few shots, but judging by his s/s 08 collection he has no voice of his own. There were references both subtle and overt to a list of major Italian houses.

I quite like what he's doing, but the three collections on his website are almost identical. Offering the same look for 3 seasons is a bit too much.

I'm not impressed too, but I still hope he can make Versace less cheap

Style.com has named Kristian as one of the seasons most promising new talents:

Donatella Versace may have reinvented herself as a minimalist of sorts, but her latest protégé, Norway-born Royal College of Art grad Kristian Aadnevik, loves putting on the glitz. Witness his gilt-edged coats and feathered frocks.

well, i like what he does. His clothes look very Versace.

i still don't get what this has to do with versace. is she rounding up young talent trying to see which one will be her successor? maybe we'll get a reality show out of this

I think Kristian has an incredibly strong signature. His work may not be terribly ground-breaking, and his development from season to season is obviously mainly in the detail, but his infatuation with glamour and women is perfect for Milan, and for Donatella. I'm convinced he'd be much better for the job than Chris Kane, who's also rumored to be taking over at Versace.

Take a look at his autumn/winter 2007 collection. It is incredible.
