Love this trend! Wish I could have been at the Klaxons show :(

"i'll out neon YOU!"

I will say this. I'm not a rock music guy. So it is nice to see something different for a change in terms of fashion inspired by music. Styles in electronica and their subculture linked to fashion is something of being youthful and expressive. Do I see New York City and Paris seeing people decked out in rave gear on the runways? I don't think so. Not a million years. The stuff mentioned here is very colorful. The thing about rave-type fashion is that there aren't really any pieces you can simply seperate to come up with some key items to make such a look work. So some of them appear overdressed. It's okay with this style of fashion to be overdressed. But at least this is overdressing that works, unlike the anonymous lady who'll wear a denim bolero jacket over a T-shirt and have designer boots tucked into jeans that look better when NOT tucked in while wearing... you get the idea. I think another reason why this thing isn't going to make a bunch of people get out and buy rave clothes is because rave is an underground deal. Celebrities will have to find a way to get exposed in the public eye with these colorful rave fashions to make them work for average people (like many of us).

Here in Stockholm and even more in Berlin the top of the top fashionkids wears this trend, for example some of thoose who works at the trendiest magazines (I'm an intern at Vice Magazine and see this on my office). personally I dipped my toe in to this trend 06 summer, but I did not go so far at all. at the moment I am sporting the grunge, (perfect for this icecold climat). but I belive that I will take this rave trend and wear it for the spring and summer but as an electrocutie (suits me well cus' I only listen to electronic music).

and as for the qoute- John, I wouldn't be too sure about that, here is one of my absolute favourite ss collections for 07, I am even sewing a dress right now, for this new years eve that I am copying from this collection.

holiday - Can you please separate your images

I really like the old skool shoes in this trend... I have a pair of Nike Dunks I bought summer 05 and had no idea what to wear them with, so now I have ideas

I don't think holiday can separate them anymore, a mod could do that.

I have seen this in Amsterdam to, I don't like it, at all.

i really like the re-evaluation of block colour and shine that's happening alongside this trend, but people look like total idiots when they overdo this.

i have to say that I like it..it reminds me of my old raver days but a lot more fashionable..

I do not understand this trend..... as in I do not see the pattern.... but the pics you posted is not aethetically pleasing to my eyes.

i think bernhard willhelm has been channeling this for the last seasons now [actually, he seems to be giving it a rest now  ].

oh yeah, chicks on speed dressed very raver-y like 4 years ago... but i do see this trend emerging, specially in the colors (at least on streetwear)

From wikipedia:
"New Rave (also spelt Neu Rave and Nu Rave), as coined by Angular Recording Corporation founder Joe Daniel, is a developing style of music fusing elements of electronicdance music and rock.[1] It has similarities with US-led style Dance-punk. Music publication NME are largely responsible for popularising the term.
It can also be applied to a burgeoning fashion style, wherein 'rave' elements such as neon clothing, glowsticks, and baggy t-shirts teamed with leggings are re-apropriated."

One person thought the term nu rave should be different, and I agree- reason I used it being that I needed a title. It's a style rather than item of clothing, so had to call it something.
