I felt the same! I read the headline and I was genuinely so excited, because it sounds like it should be nothing less than amazing -- the end result is such a disappointment.

Haven't seen something from Mondino in a while, so I was looking forward to this. Awfully dissapointed. Everything looks so severe here, but the eye make-up is the worst. Amber contacts with glitter make-up?

Oh yeah... And that's quite a huge disappointment after recent issues being quite nice (if not more than nice, actually). Let's just hope there'll be something among the contents to calm down my hunger because when I see this picture under Numéro's masthead, I feel like starving.

It's been a year since he collaborated with Numero. Does this mean that he is not a contributor anymore?

Mariacarla in gothic glamour by Mondino... every one of us can imagine our own version of what that cover would look like, and every version would be better than this shot. It's just so surprisingly ordinary, especially for a magazine that doesn't mind doing something a little bit different with its covers.

^^^ Are all the photographers that make me dream— are they all burnt out…??? They don’t seem to care anymore. They’re all just going through the laziest of motions and blatantly coasting on their brandnames. It’s defeating and insulting.

Sheesh— give me and my team a chance to create fresh stories with Mariacarla— or Edita, if they’re all so bored and tired of this high fashion gig. I would really give them something they can feel (…. to steal En Vogue’s song for the feels LOL). Sigh.
