They reprinted 8 covers that, according to them, have shaped the history of Numéro. inside you can find all covers (too small for my taste) and a big portfolio with mix of best-of editorial images from all these years. 388 pages

I wish it was a bigger issue, a lot of images are missing, maybe they are launching a book or something…

Magazines reprinting covers for their actual covers seems like it should be great, but it also feels a bit... unnatural?

I always dream of a print-on-demand service where you could get fresh copies of old magazines, but god knows how that would ever work in reality.

I do like the issue…Besides the small covers, i also would have put covers bigger on a special section without layout, just the photographs.

Also 500 pages would be a better page count on this cause you ser there are some images left out…but overall it’s a good look to the past the move forward towards the new year.

They should make an anniversary book but im not sure it’s on their plans.

The intent is cool but the outcome is underwhelming.
I like that they're saying: look at how long we've been here, and the b/w keeps things on theme & consistency. I don't like that it's almost saying: what we're putting out rn is not comparable to our past. They should've put out 2 recycled covers with the inclusion of 1 new outstanding cover with their now crowd. Or even 1 with either Solve or Mondino whom they've really championed for 2 decades. The past is just the past if standards aren't met.
I admire how Babeth keeps this magazine alive though. They clearly still have their identity intact.

No M&M ? no Demarchelier and Gisele?

This issue was the perfect opportunity to remind people how Numero was very forward in terms of talents and photography. Numéro was one of the best magazines which shaped so many careers.

Babeth starts to piss me off…

What a lackluster selection!
I think Naomi in 2008 smiling with the YSL sequined pants was more iconic than the one they chose!
I think Coco Rocha by Mondino was more iconic than whatever they chose over here
Im disappointed by the choices.

^indeed!

Even Linda Evangelista by M&M or Jessica Miller with full glitters on by Solve and the magnificent cover with Kate Moss by Solve and the black feathered outfit.

The Cara Delevingne's cover is so uninteresting. :innocent:

I’ll look at my 5 year anniversary issue. Still is perfection ❤️

Liya for the May 2004 issue! That’s the Liya cover we wanted!

Is a cute issue if you ask me. Like 70-80% are pictures from their editorials, kind of Vogue Paris 100th anniversary issue but without articles and essays. Looks more like a coffee table book than a magazine.

I was going to say this! I wish they had reprinted one of the cover issues with gisele by demarchelier.
