It's not so much the composition/styling that bothers me, it's Lily's own proportions... Her face looks really small compared to her upper body (those shoulders!!) her hand looks big and her arms look weird... But as I said I love Lily and i'm glad she got the cover

ETA: I've just looked at the cover again, hiding her arms with my thumbs, and it looks amazing... So my real problem is the arms...

They have purposefully put a lot of light on her lily white arms - to enhance the weird pose - personally I love this kind of 80s power pose, especially when combined with a face that is wholly different from the kind of face/hair that would go with the shoulders in a real 80s shot - the face is more new wave than you'd ever see in the mid-80s wholesome shots.

Either that or the photographer went on to create an extreme contrast between the indigo blue colors of the dress and Lily's pale skin. Second option could be as well to enhance the detail of the dress by lightening up the tones of it. Lily's extremely powerful eyecolor totally clashes with the colors of a peacock tale.

The whole hair situation solely reflects a peacock crown. I can also see that Lily's nose was slightly retouched to look more birdlike. This image is a lovely success!

I think it's gorgeous, and this is coming from a Don't-Care-Much-For-Lily-Donaldson member. Numero is amazing, and I am forever impressed by the simplicity of their covers and fonts. They compliment each other so well; a dramatic and/or beautiful shot with simple yet bold fonts and not a overwhelming amount of text. Just what a fashion magazine cover should be, IMO.

her hand looks strange...the pose seems very awkward...
if you crop the pic right at the tip of her fingers, it's gorgeous...

If the image were cropped so that Lily's hands weren't visible and the backdrop was a different color, I'd enjoy this cover more. For some reason I have this aversion towards grey backgrounds, probably because they're used so frequently.
