^ Agree, kind of suprising since her role required no talent really :innocent: But in real life she seems smart and mature. I also think Adam Brody has potential too...

I am defintiely surprised by her success, especially with Jumper. The right people just seem to support her...I would've thought Mischa would go on to greatness with all the hype and publicity she got so early on but...Rachel is highly likable, she could have longevity with romantic comedies especially.

There a huge list of people that would be wonderful on nylon.Rinko Kinkuchi, Chloe Sevigny, Erin Wasson, Michelle Williams, SNEJANA!(wishful thinking), Hilary Rhoda, Valentine Filloil-Cordier, etc.

Michelle Williams actually has been a cover girl for Nylon! It was a great article - featured beautiful clothing as well.

Honestly, teen celebs are NOTHING new for Nylon - over the past several years they've featured Mischa, Avril, Christina Aguilera (sp.?), and so many other mainstream actresses. It's definitely not why I love Nylon, but it isn't anything new.

Based on jewelbox's info, it doesn't sound very interesting, IMO. But I think the styling looks fun, and sometimes their underground fashion designer articles can be fun to read.

I can't believe Chloe Sevigny hasn't been on the over yet.She seems like a fairly obvious choice.

I think she looks really good on the cover and the spread is a lot nicer than I had imagined. I think I'll pick this up.

Chloe Sevigny was the stereotypical Nylon cover girl way back when. Maria Carla also showed up in a cover once as well as Anna Paquin, Thora Birch, Devon Aoki (as a model and not an actress), Gwen Stefani (before all the Vogue covers), Shannyn Sossamon, Shirley Manson, Fiona Apple, Bjork, Jessica Miller, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lil Kim, Sarah Polley, Zooey Deschanel, Bijou Phillips, Ludivigne Sagnier, Chrissie Hynde, Karen Elson, Christina Ricci, Kelly Osborne, Lydia Hearst. They had a good number of models I couldn't ID. It was a good mix of models, semi-popular celebs with some attitude and rock stars. The celebs they chose were diverse and not the same old scenester in LA: I don't think there's anything that Kelly Osborne has in common with, say Zooey Deschanel or Devon Aoki. Of course they had the usual suspect cover girls but way back when they werent the same old people: like a younger Katie Holmes, Natalie Portman, Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst, Liv Tyler. And the cover wasn't the usual Actress against a White Background with awkward facial expression. Man, they really used to be cool. Now it's one vapid, blank scenester after another. I find Rachel Bilson cute and all, but I do not find her interesting nor inspiring.

I would hardly call Jumper a success especially since it opened against Channing Tatum-less Step Up 2.

totally agree with above. Rachel is cute cute cute but borrrrring - not edgy. Even Nicole was a better choice - at least she has lived a little and (IMHO) has good style. I remember years ago Nylon used to use more model and less well known faces and it was so much better - it is becoming just like all the other magazines out there and loosing its point of difference.
Even a few more musos on the cover would be cool - Lily Allen or Kate Nash or something? ....

About two years ago they had an issue that came with a poster of all their covers. I have is somewhere around here, yalil summed up the cover stars very well. I can scan it if/when I find it, I just saw it the other day...

Well it was #1 with like 30 mil. LOL

Anyway I loved the Mariacarla cover but I doubt something like that would happen again. I still have it though. ^_^

Step Up and Jumper? Jesus I've got to leave this country!

It's not even Step Up, it's Step Up 2.

Yeah, I was looking at that poster that time I wrote my post Rampling... ha ha. It was cool. Don't get me wrong, I do like Rachel Bilson, I just dont expect to see her in Nylon. And she never has anything much to say. Pretty much like everybody else we have around now.

Well you're gonna keep seeing movies like Step-Up, no matter how bad they are. Cause they're cheap and make money...LOL...like Hostel and Saw...all that crap.

The cover is adorable, I don't find her to be very interesting either...
but it could have been worst. :innocent:
