It's funny that Leighton Meester wears that polka dot Bensoni dress on Gossip Girl and Olivia is also photographed with it! She's portrayed as the real life Blair Waldorf in the media so much...

^I really dislike the fashion on Gossip Girl though. Blair and Olivia might both have a preppy polished look but I think they wear very different things. Most of the stuff worn by Blair, Olivia would never wear. Olivia imo just has a much better sense for fashion than the stylist for GG. I can't even see Olivia wearing that polka dot dress cause it's too cutesy. She's just posing with the dress..

I think it's because she's friend with the Bensoni designers and maybe she tried to help them by giving that dress to the stylists of Gossip Girl!
if so she did good job because that dress is perfect for Blair and the Bensoni brand is going to have a lot of publicity!

I understand what you mean and needless to say that I completely agree. But I don't think they're compared due to their similarities in fashion; it's more of the "upper eastside ice princess" sort of reputation they have that's more of the similarity.

^yeah you might be right. Cause look at this mess! New pic of GG.. Who are these stylists? A complete and total mess.Both of them. Olivia is stylewise NOTHING like Blair. Would not love Olivia's style if it was.

agree! and i think it's pretty obvious being GG a tv show based on a bunch of spoiled rich kids everything is always a bit over the top!i mean..most of the time i see Serena or Blair outfit i think i like this/or i don't like this but everytime everything seems so not appropriate for someone with a "normal life"...
that said..i prefer Blair/Leighton in the Bensoni dress so far...but for the final face-off let's wait until Olivia wears it out!

I personally think that Eric has done good job for the new season, I've mostly liked all the outfits we have seen on set. But it's obvious that they can't compete with Olivia, because she just is the real definition for stylish uppereastsider.

For me Blair and Olivia have different styles, and I like Liv's better.
I like Blair's style only when she wears gloves and Oscar de la renta type of dresses.
Olivia, on the other hand, is always always perfect and elegant, while Blair sometimes looks like a mess

i don't think that Olivia and Blair have similar styles... well they're both preppy, but Liv's style is more mature, stylish, something like "classic with a twist"... you know, eclectic; classic mixed with boho, romantic, maybe rock. Blair is more girly & cute... she's not that classic, to me.

Funny thing is, from reading the books you'd expect Blair's style to be more classic, simple, and sophisticated than what is portrayed on the show (at times. for instance, the picture above).

I love Olivia's style; it's very classy without being boring.
