Olivia Palermo

I'm not a fan of the Tibi cheetah coat either. Though I do like the leather pockets.

Thank you, godsavethhequeen!

Honestly that question wasn't really a question, my thought was: what kind of (more bad) blogs was in race that the winner was the Olivia's?

Solitaire Magazine Feb/March 2012 – Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo is featured in the February/March 2012 issue of Solitaire Magazine.

Here’s some highlights from her interview:

You’re the face of Carrera y Carrera’s newest jewellery line. Why do you think jewellery is important?

“It’s a nice Spanish jewellery brand with a new creative team that I think will add a fresh look onto the brand. Their collections are beautiful.”

What inspired you to start a fashion blog?

“Everyone needs fashion inspiration; places inspire me, clothes and art inspire me, but most importantly it’s the wonderful people I work with and alongside that inspire me. I have a wonder team at OliviaPalermo.com! Through my site I will introduce these people to an online audience. It’s also a platform to profile and share with the world other tastemakers that I believe in.”

There is something off with her...every time I see a video of her, she seems so fake, maybe I have the wrong impression, but that's what I feel about her

I can't believe her blog won an AWARD. It's a blog so bad it doesn't even seem to understand what a blog is. It's an unbelievably low grade fashion magazine, with a staff of 20+, churning out stories which are neither new or interesting. And it has no voice or point of view. It is just awful. It makes the whole fashiontoast/fashionsquad type blogs look like genius. And they are not genius. It also makes it seem like Olivia is too dumb/uncreative to compose her own posts, rather has hired a bunch of literate people to write under her name for unfathomable reasons. Seriously, it is not hard to do, take a pretty picture of your outfit each day and post it. THAT IS ALL.

I think I'm officially over her. Her modelling/blogging/camera presence/styling are just not there anymore. I don't know what has happened to her since the City - never loved her, but she had an undeniable aura and flair - either she's trying too hard or she was getting some styling help back then. But recently she's just been an all round fail for me.

^What annoys me most about her win was that the blogs she was up against were really good blogs, especially for being "newcomers." The picture quality is far superior, and you can understand their point of view, get a sense of their personal style, and the writing is more personal. You actually learn what some of these bloggers are passionate about. Some also respond to the comments left on the posts or at least acknowledge their readers.

Olivia's blog reads more like a pseudo-intellectual, Writing 100 paper. It's really a shame that she won when she was completely undeserving of it.

I guess I'm not understanding what happened to her style. If she did have a stylist before, as some here at theorized (and I think it's a good theory), she should probably hire her back! Something about her now seems a little off. We're sensing that there's some disconnect between Olivia and her style -- it just isn't quite working.

I think suddenly she's trying to have a "rich girl" look like 24/7, hence all the fur. It's like she's adopted a costume or something. I can't really put my finger on it but it's MORE than just bad outfits.

mordant, I couldn't agree more with you.
