I caught last night's episode. I agree that the show is edited to make Olivia look extra bitchy, but I couldn't help but give out a chuckle when she very proudly boasted to Mr. Blahnik, making damn sure that Whitney and the cameras heard, that she was only 17 when she received her first pair of Manolos. Who the hell cares? Talk about pretentious, LOL.

Lauren grew up richer than her but she is so humble and down to earth that almost everyone can relate to her on some level. She is the ultimate next door girl in tv who just happens to live in a 17 milllion dollars mansion but you would never know that

I know some of it is editing but I get a sense of entitlement from her... she seems like such an ice princess and wayy to pretentious.... plus, her voice annoys me to no end.

She is beautiful and the screen loves her most of the time ... and her clothes... AMAZING

No I definitely dont think Lauren grew up richer than Olivia. Even that house they showed on Laguna Beach was being built when she was 18 or something and it has been sold or so it seems.

Just looking at Olivia's set (Byrdie Bell, Kristian Laliberte, Bingo Gubelmann, etc.) you can tell that she comes from a totally different kind of "money" than Lauren... I absolutely agree that Olivia doesn't have the same appeal as Lauren because Olivia is not meant to be the girl next door, I think Olivia appeals in an entirely different way as a UES Queen Bee type (even though in "reality" she's more of a UES reject...)

On a different note... I think she looks absolutely stunning on screen, and I like the contrast between her and The Hills girls (casual vs more "done" and put together).

This whole notion of being a victim of bad editing is nonsense. Heidi Montag would be first in line to sue if that's the case. Whatever the editors and MTV team worked with she gave them and I'm sure she has no regrets. Not forgetting they repeat scenes several times until the producer is satisfied. It seems the one thing making her shine is her beauty. Looking through this thread her style had some nice moments in the beginning it seems to have become more contrived and rigid as of late. (I'm guessing that's down to her stylist) I still see no comparison to Blair Waldorf. She's yet to show any form of natural wit or humor to ride along side with her coldness.
