Yes, I also think she doesn't, I was just curious if there's some information about that. What made me question is that she's so skinny and that often comes with smoking.
And her skin is unreal!

I've looked through both her threads here at the tFS and I couldn't help but got the impression that she is not that rich or wealthy as she is presented... I can't really explain why I feel so, but it just comes from her images, her face, her behavior, I dunno...
I don't mean to insult anyone, I am sorry in advance.
I am not saying that she is a liar or something, that is not what I think.
I just see her as girl of an average wealth, maybe a little more then that, but not crazy rich IT girl, you know. And that makes me highly respect her on how she presents herself, how she manages to look so great everytime we see her anywhere she appears, how she manages to afford super-high-end pieces like Birkin of other Hermès pieces, tons of Louboutins and Manolos - I think she has to be quite a good economist, you know ; )
Anyways, I just wanted to say that for some reason I feel that her media image is far different from her real lifestyle, and that the fact that she manages to present to us quite naturally that she leads this glamourous lifestyle makes me respect her.

I dont think she is either. Her parents are though I think, she just socialises in the right circles. Apparantly she gets $12,000 per episode for the City which seems alot but when you compare it to what others earn.

I think she is very savy what she will put her name to and the brands she wears. She tends to wear alot of high street then teams them with designer investment shoes and bags and statement jewellry.

We all adore her though for who she is and her style.

I still maintain MTV should give her her own show. So come on MTV

I don't think she's that rich.. at least, anymore. She openly admits she buys from high street stores like Topshop and I'm sure she gets some stuff for free. Plus, I think her dad was either sued or went bankrupt and then she moved to Brooklyn so I don't think her money situation is what it used to be.

I heard that too about her Dad. I very much respect her though for doing what she has done. I am sure she will be wealthy again one day if she has the drive and ambition which I am very sure she has. She has so much potential within the fashion industry and I wish her all the luck in the world. If I had a fashion label it would be a priviledge having Ms Palermo wearing it, she can only generate good publicity.

I made an interesting observation: As soon as a pic shows up somewhere where a beloved celebrity smokes fans say "oh. it's probably just her bf ones / she just smokes once or twice a week"... Why would anyone care if she smokes ? lol. Its funny how especially women try so hard ot "like" their style icon. There's been a long discussion if Olivia is really an arrogant B**** - as portrayed on the city. But why argue about it ? It's not like you'll ever go out for lunch together. Just enjoy looking at her style..I need style inspiration... not an imaginary friendship with her...

Well, Michael Jackson went to Salvation Army, and you can't say it was poor. I mean she's probably not rich with billion, but I don't think she's "poor" in any ways. And about her moving to Brooklyn, I thought it was a choice made with Johanness ? And Brooklyn is getting more and more popular, so I don't know I don't think it was a choice made because of the money.

I agree but I have noticed that because people like her style they are willing to overlook negative characteristics that they wouldn't admire in people they know. It's like because she dresses well and is very pretty she can't possibly be as mean and rude as she comes off on the City. She must be acting because there's just no way a wealthy, attractive, well-dressed woman could ever be mean.

I very much disagree. I find it hard to find her as amazing looking as I should because of her personality (or what I have seen of it).

Very, very true. Looks are very deceiving and we live in a very appearance obsessed society.

^ Personally I believe shes not as nice as she looks. I love her style and i know reality tv isnt completely real but i think shes as mean as she is on the city. if she really was a nic(er) person i think shed fight to be seen that way on the show. maybe she doesnt care about that but thats my take on it... For me anyways her style has nothing to do with her kindness/niceness lol
