Olivia Palermo

Have any of you actually visited Brooklyn? It's quite large and has many lovely parts, including DUMBO, which might I add is not exactly inexpensive. There are many in the fashion community who have taken up residence in BK, who could easily afford to live anywhere in Manhattan. I just think these elitist boundaries of where someone should live to be "cool" are so dated. I'm glad Olivia doesn't feel confined to silly societal expectations.

Yes, she just lives her life whatever she likes and she is happy.
Oh, I just love Olivia:heart:

THANK YOU. :innocent::innocent::innocent:

I have not met a single real New Yorker to date that has a problem with Brooklyn... It really isn't a bad place to live at all. The place Olivia is living at (DUMBO) attracts a wealth of artistic minds! It really is a wonderful little place to live in.

^ I agree- it's partly tongue in cheek, but for Olivia, as a 'public' socialite who made such a determined bid to rule young NY Society a few years back- one would never live there- it just is not done!! It would be like going to CCNY, being a Mets fan and using the subway...it is just not proper...!! :p I mean, there were pictures of Ivanka Trump and her husband shopping at K Mart!!! What is this world coming to, anyway... :o ;)
There are lovely sections of Brooklyn, and a couple I would consider living in...but then I am not a 'to the manor born' UES/Greenwich, country club, private school socialite... (Of course there has always been some discussion about whether or not Olivia is as well, but I digress...)

^ The entire concept of 'Society' (and for that matter, Royalty) is antiquated....My point is if you very publicly endeavor to be a major player in the game, you play by their rules...Manhattan socialites do not live in a converted warehouse district under a bridge...;)

I think by appearing on a reality show Olivia stopped playing by their rules a long time ago;)

has anyone id or can id her army green trousers please? the ones she wore with the lanvin sneakers. thanks :)

well, I actually LOVE Brooklyn, and comparing Olivia's character fiction-and-non-fiction with Brooklyn's styles, I can't see a thing of why she would be compatible with it. ANYHOW, she's great and I wish I could have her life as well, it seems great. But my point is that "edgy", "cool" people tend! to live in BK, and she looks like a Blair WaldorfEsque girl from the upper east side, I wasn't saying I didn't like Brooklyn at all.:ninja:

Why are people freaking out over Brooklyn?! Where have you been for the past 5 years? There are loads of wealthy people, celebs, etc. who live in various parts of Brooklyn because it's obviously a very trendy place to live. It's not like Olivia is born and bred in the UES. It's not that exciting a place to live (the UES), in my opinion anyway.

However, discussing where she lives is not part of her style and it would be best if we could re-orient this conversation back to how Olivia dresses....

yes, this is actually going out of olivia's thread's rules, maybe all the opinions were missunderstood...
btw, can anyone id her last pants???

"It's not like Olivia is born and bred in the UES."

^ Actually, I am pretty sure she was, along with the storied Fairfield County, Connecticut and various toney private schools...And I'll drop it- but I would say her style, fashion and lifestyle/image is relevant regarding her move to a very different area than her previous presentation and goals would indicate... ;)

I love how Olivia is playing with mixing brown, olive and navy --it works!

... Just not too keen on those sneakers. :huh: :blush:
