yeah..i started noticing the dip-dyed or ombre effect a teensy bit for spring 07...and i agree--it's being used a ton in the fall collections.

this look has been around in Prada for ages. But it has been more distinct this season.

I love it myself, those V&R pants are to die for

I love these gradients! Very graphic. They're like an appealing webpage haha.

<3 the prada + dior.

I very much like that ombré effect; the viktor & rolf pants are crazy good!

what victor and rolf pants?

They were up there yesterday...weird.
Hn, maybe they merged topics and now they're gone. Too bad!

why fashion, those pictures do not belong here if you take the title of the thread into consideration, they're all summer looks and this is about the trend in F/W 07.08 shows. :flower:

this trend is still going strong.. esp with the whole artistic feel to prints and fabrics that's going on at the moment

There's a new fading @ Prada for fall /winter 2008 too :lucky:
This time they are on coarser fabrics, so when you look close, the tones are slightly dusty and flaky-looking .. not like super smooth transitions

I would love to have that yellow Nina Ricci dress. Some of these are very nice, that's when they fade nicely with one color. I'm not of fan of those multiple color fadings, think it looks too restless.

gorgeous i love this look .. espesially with greys and blacks think it looks kidna grungey

isnt that trend called 'ombre'??

what i hate is that it's already 'killed' by being copied to death @ Zara

when it gets copied it means two things,

the good thing is that it's available to people who cant afford the expenssive brands..

the bad thing is that it's available to people who can't afford the expensive brands which means that there's a possibility that you'll see it everywhere:shock:

^true -- it's sort of a technique that's difficult to make original
it's just a very easy idea

i like prada's though
the use of hatching in the men's
and the transforming in textures for the women's (fw 07)
So, it's really not just the colour that's changing

would be curious to see what the high street brands /less expensive brands are producing :ninja: i wonder how it could compare
