After a couple of pretty lame resort shows, I am VERY impressed with Oscar's show. It's clean, stylish, and very sophisticated. The evening gowns are especially stunning.

Any thoughts?

i think almost every single garment that was solid was pretty good, but the florals and polka dots wrecked the entire mood. the pants, on the other hand, are very nice..

In relation to the other collections, it's good ... but just by itself, it's only so so. I'm impressed by the first 2 pieces, especially the first, which somehow reminds me of Balenciaga's SS pods ... but that really is it.... agreed that the florals ruined the white clean mood in the beginning, he really should have just run with that instead of going floral...

I mean, it didn't have a perfect flow to it. It starting off relatively mod, transitioning into 50's housewife and ending with Marie Antoinette, was a bit random.

But, on the other hand, I kind of saw the show starting off with basically a blank slate and slowly transforming into something very decadant and opulent, ending with the floral Marie Antoinette gowns. Kind of an evolution. I don't know. I liked it.

BTW: doesn anyone know the names of ALL the songs played (you can watch the video on style.com)

^yes i agree, it didn't really 'flow' in my opinion.

But i loved the show, almost every piece is gorgeous.

Oh this is beautiful.

Great use of different prints (the last look is amazing).. versatile fabrics.. lovely choice of colour palette - great control of the strong colours... and lastly, fantastic shapes!

Tiui looked great, and the fact they used Andi Muise is fabulous.
YAY ANDI!

But for the fashion part, I adored the general shapes they used. I though taht they flattered the girls quite well. There were a few pictures that made the models look a little like clones, but I really loved the colors, the overall theme, of the show.

I love this. I love the fishnets, love the coats, love the dresses.

you know what ghesquiere said about balenciaga ss06? he said it was the idea of going from something very simple to something very worked and baroque..:innocent:

Well...it make perfect sense in Balenciaga SS06...it makes sense here too. They both start off with very similar simple white dresses, one slowly swerves to the baroque period while the other makes its way toward 18th century France.

Here's how I see this show move-
shapeless, colorless dress....add a waist line....move the waistline down....add color, length and shape...add prints...add serious structure...the end! When you watch the show or look at all the pictures in order, you can clearly see this evolution occur.

I take back my statement about it not flowing well...when I look back at it, I see the transformation and it all makes sense.

this is really lovely! espescially for oscar- whose stuff can sometimes be a bit frumpy...

The Cream colored wide leg pants are a must buy!

ooh i really like this (*o*
The best of the resort collections I've seen so far... The nice details are still there. interesting usages of embroidery, cutwork, appliqué... and odd fabrics as well :D

but the shapes are definitely "safe"

This one of my favs
I really like the collection but i wasn't feeling most of the polka dots

i love all of this! Why isn't his mainline ever this good?

beautiful! I really haven't been happy with the resort shows of late, but as far as this goes I think it's very good. Clean, elegant, but also very very fresh. There are a couple duds (but there always are!), but I think that it's for the most part very wearable.

The white dress with the red polkadots is so sweet
