Paris shopping

I would skip the two big "malls" which is very close, perhaps 30 seconds walking distance between them. I'm trying to remember the name, but can't. Anyone care to help me?

Anyway, really rude service at the "malls", few really good items, etc.

I had best experiences at Colette, John Galliano, Hermes & Marc Jacobs.

really beau strang,
do you mean the grand magasins, printemps and galleries lafayette? they are 'mall" like. i personally have a coup de coeur for the balenciaga store...they pull out the secret stuff for me when the tourists vacate the store...

I'm going to be in Paris for four months between September & December on exchange at Essec. I discovered this book online which is going to be released on Tuesday which looks promising for shopping suggestions. There are many great tips posted so far so thanks to everyone. i was talking to someone from Paris the other day and they said that scarves aren't that big in Paris and that I've been lied to by the media for years. Oh well, I can pretend Le Divorce is representative of french fashion still.:p

I'm talking about galeries lafayette and Le Printemps, yes. They had a good, but small selection of McQueen and Edun, but that was the only thing worth looking. Oh, and the DH-store wasn't that bad either, but horrible staff.

Wow, that's a great school. It's one of the best actually. Congratulations. Are you gonna live on the Campus ot the school or do you have a place in Paris? Anyway, I'm sure you're gonna love Paris!!

I'm going to live in one of the schools residences that is a couple train stops away so technically not on campus but still a school owned building. I'm pretty sure after all the fees, tourist stops, plane ticket, tuition, bills and rent I'll have little left for shopping but I'm hoping there is some good shopping for broke students there hehe. I'm pretty sure I will love it too I can't stop day dreaming about it *sighs*.

I don't know if there's a thread about France in general, so I'll post it here.
Next Tuesday I'm going to Toulouse with my school friends and I'll like to know if there're interesting shops or markets, or anything related to fashion there.

Does anyone know some nice vintage shops ?
I remember there is a store next to the Marc Jacobs store who sells designer vintage stuff... Also what price can I except for example a vintage Chanel bag ? :)

I'm going to Paris in about a month and I'd really like to do some market shopping, unfortunately, I will be toting around my parents most of the time(mummy is great at french tho and I'm not so she's more of an asset). So which is the best flea market for clothes, antiques and just stuff?

i think first <30% then at the end of the season they could reach 70% but seriously i dont fnd any stuffs i like which have more than 50% off :-(

does anyone have a favorite magazine store in paris? where i can get the most international editions? my local store is a bit disappointing at the moment.
