Paris shopping

Hi! I've been reading all this thread in the last hour, writing on my book almost all the vintage stores you've mentioned... Now I wanna know: which are the best?:D I'm going to stay in Paris from 30/12 to 4/1 with a person who's never been there (I have to be a tour guide  ) so I got few time... HELP ME!

Are there any shops in Paris which carry a lot of "Michael Tapia" clothes?
I am looking for a red brown sweater from tapia.

does anyone know when the paris soldes start- is it still the second week in jan?

Colette's the only place with Tapia, the selection's very small though

Tell me about this sale.
My boyfriend is in Paris on business now, and called to say "everything in France is 50% off"... he seems to think he can buy me a handbag for half off... I however, don't believe this... I mean isn't it too good to be true. Plus, he's not a shopper and could very easily be confused.

If every

^ the "everything" thing is not quite true... i kinda wish they'd just skip the sales and head straight to the spring/summer collections.
and please don't ever go into printemps or galeries lafayette (@ haussman) in the afternoon.
zadig & voltaire is really popular, but i almost threw up seeing all of the ppl tossing sweaters about just before leaving for the holidays. everyone wears boots here... so boot shops are popular... like there's this shop that sells boots off blvd st germain... i think it's on rue de rennes called colisee de sacha that sells tons of chloe-ish boots that ppl here seem to love.

PARIS sales are the best.
my sis in law and best friend were there just a few days ago.
the entire roberto cavalli and missoni stock was at 50% off.... and most other stores to.
its unlike london much easier to find good bargains as there isnt this hype about standing in line the day of sale before the shops open ;)
whoever lives in london, its worth going there just fo rthe sale

oh forgot to mention though: KEEP YOUR CALM... as parisians (no offence but i grew up in france myself) love to pick fights all day long.....

OH LALA ;)

Also in Italy most of brands have 50% sales...
Gucci in Milan have queue of hundreds meters from hours before the opening...

Having just recently moved to Paris for several months, this site has been a godsend, for the fashion but also just for keeping somethings I used to do at home the same here (like checking the TFS!) Anyway, I managed to drop by the Mouton a Cinq Pattes on Blvd Saint Germain, and was not impressed. Very small, stock seemed very old style and season wise, the best pieces I found were some old Feretti pieces and two Gaultier vests. I guess the prices for Paris were good, but I'd take Century 21 over this location. I'll be checking out the rest of the stores here on this thread, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it! (And if anyone wants me to check something out before they get here tell me, as I'm always up for an adventure!) ^_^
