some pics in this thread do not represent paris street style at all

i mean, yeah, it's from paris, pictures here are gorgeous, people are stylish and all, but trust me, as a parisian i TELL you : you'll meet only two or three of these bros a month - if you really pay attention - when you go out

remember this graph ?

i feel in our town, late majority + laggards are a bit overated (and i don't integrate those who are tryin TOO HARD)

i guess i'll look funny if i decide to do justice and start to post bros-next-door ... but ... i know you know what i'm talking about, keep it in your mind

having say that, now maybe you understand what i mean via "you actually will manage to meet" : its amazing when you see a girl everyday in your school and stubble upon a photo of her @ thecobrasnake

also please note that, except the cobrasnake, i took these pics from lil personal blogs & sites of parisians kids, not big streetstyle blogs...
what for ? to bring you in the context...... only on lil personal blogs you see how the style borns and lives...

thanks for taking the time, theo, I can see the frustration about whatever misconception there may be regarding the 'real' state of a city but please keep in mind that most of our streetstyle threads are not meant to 'represent' a whole city in any way, it's usually lucky spottings of amazingly dressed people, that's what keeps the section running, no matter how popular the jeans and a sweatshirt look is, the reason why one comes to a fashion streetstyle section and not random street shots via google maps is precisely because we're chasing the secret gems of cities, something that manages to capture a part of some environment but keeping a touch of individuality, something that's not overwhelmingly ordinary, I guess that's why it's called style hunting by some, cause it is deliberately excludable.

Those looks in #3761 aren't especially parisian. Most stylish kids in France dress like that...

but i get your point, that this thread is an idealised version of Paris. But since when did any thread have an obligation to reflect reality? I think the majority of us know, and thence prefer to see the best dressed minority out of the city, we choose to look at, and streetstyle blogs choose to photograph,that minority. I'd personally rather see the gorgeous creatures Garance photographs rather than hipster style that is oh so ubiquitous.

As Mulletproof succinctly put it, we're looking for the gems, the standouts and the true originals.
