Depends on your taste, though for earrings I prefer pearls.

Though both can be worn for evening or daytime.

It depends upon what articles of clothing I'm wearing although I usually sport pearls in the day and diamonds at night.

Pearls, pearls, pearls... for earrings, at least. I feel naked without my pearl earrings. I wear 6.5 - 7 mm pearls from Tiffany & Co.... probably could have gotten the same earrings for much cheaper, but I wear these daily so I think they're worth it!
