You just contradicted yourself! How do you know pete is a very loving caring person, and yet we can't judge him for ourselfs?

I base my opinions of pete on the fact he's a hard drug addict, has a criminal record, assults reporters, has a highly sketchy sexual past, and looks like he is close to dropping dead from heart failure. I sure as hell would never let someone like that even in my house. I just can't see someone who punches anyone in the face as a 'caring' 'loving' person, I can't imagine any of my friends doing that

everyone has a good side, just most people's good side tends to out shine their bad side, so you don't have to 'look for it'.

Cos I no Pete. I doubt many of you no Kate. So I am not contricting myself.

Most artists get f*cked, and it's usually to do with the pressure they are put under. I'm not saying it's effing right...but all the beatles got f*cked up, as well Kurt Cobain and many more. Doesn't stop them from being absolutelty f*cking brilliant people and artists.

I don't give a toss about what he's like as a person, it's Pete Doherty's singular lack of any musical ability that irritates me...

Never going to give him a chance?? Then you can't judge. You have obviously only bothered to read the bad press on him, WHICH MEANS you have only heard one side of the story. The tabloids are picking at his faults which means that they don't let his 'good side' shine through...they aren't going to say "Pete Doherty punched a photographer etc etc...but he also loves his child, cares for his fans and when he's off the drugs cares for the people he loves" They don't give him the chance to show his good side becasue they know that people like you, won't be interested in it because you liek to think that he's this 'awful person'.....Listen to his music at least. You don't have to like him. He's bloody amazing and always be lovely to me.

First of all, i don't know Pete or Kate and so obviously can't like or dislike either of them.
But, love to all his fans and all the rest? It's called drugs mate

If you had a hard core drug habit wouldn't you love anyone you were getting money off? Also, he loves his fans that much but drops out of babyshambles as soon as Kate tells him to? Right.

ahh your all boring me with your views. im just being a good fan. why do you all have a problem with that. i want him to get off the drugs as well but im not going to critisise his every bad move. i just dont think you can say that pete is bad for kate becasue kate is also an addict. its like saying courtney love brought kurt cobain down. THEY BOTH DID DRUGS. but unfortunately becasue pete is so very talented, people like to bring him down and go on and on AND ON about his drug use. But luckily for Kate Moss, she's in an industry where...well...she doesnt need to do much but look pretty and wear designer clothes, so no one really wants to go on and on about her addictions. blah. i love peter. you dont....i think we can stop trying to change each others views. i just think its sad that fans of his dont stick up for him any more. i still want him to get better and carry on making beautiful music, so im going to stick up for him until im blue in the face. or pink becasue it sounds more attractive. meh

With kate's past troubles, now that she is a mom and might hope for a healthier lifestyle, a junkie like pete is the worst possible influence on kate and lila. there must be some romantic attraction to him for her, but you know that many of kate's long-term friends are appalled by pete, and we, looking at this from the outside, can understand their concern and also hope she shows him the door immediately. his current conduct is atrocious

I love him too, and I am also a great big fan of his I completely agree with what you are saying and thought you might like to know that there is a documentry about Pete on tv on 28th August and you might want to watch it!

I think that he is a genius and he will get off the drugs. His music has inspired so many people and when you people take the time to hear it you will find that it is truley amazing. I have been to many of his shows and he really cares for the audience and conects with them in a way that I have seen no other artist do. I think he is great because he not some narrow minded fool, he opens himself to many things, the drugs were a bad thing to open up to though. I don't think his true fans will give up on him,I am one of them. I am currently reading a book about the Libertines, Kids In the Riot: Highs and Lows of the Libertines, it is fantastic and all the truth is witten inside of there not some of the crap you see in tabloids, they are all scum!

You are a fan.. you don't KNOW pete. Is is nailed at the moment and the last thing that anyone should do is support an addiction like he has to crack or heroin. He may be a great person without the crack but tbh, its been a long time since anyone has seen that. And plus.. he's letting down his band and fans, i've lost count of the amount of times that he hasn't turned up to gigs. Seriously, this behaviour isn't to be applauded

The BABYSHAMBLES singer made the crew's lives hell during a rollercoaster four months of filming for the forthcoming show WHO THE F**K IS PETE DOHERTY? - and his frightening behaviour including threatening cameramen and destroying expensive equipment.

I am sure that Pete is a good person , he and Kate must have had something very special between them and it is sad when any relationship ends. I do like Pete's music, but it seems his drug abuse is eclipsing his accomplishments. I know people do change when they use/abuse drugs, and the addiction turns them into a very bad version of themselves. I'm sure Pete wouldn't be doing these crazy things were he not on drugs, I just wish he would get help.

I'd love to see this documentary though...I doubt it will be released in the U.S.

I don't know much about him but he looks like a curious mix between Brian Jones '69 (impending kidney failure) and Brett Anderson '92 (baby fat, pre heroin). He's not much of a looker, IMO, but what does it matter when his voice is so hot - he's got one of those voices that can just cause one of those spontaneous extra ovulations

i'm on petes side. no one is perfect, and its not easy to quit drugs. not many ppl do it on the first try. he's a brilliant musician and seems like a sweet human being...and i think its quite naive to sit there and take tabloid reports as the gospel truth. so he hit a reporter-we dont know all the details. for all we know that reporter could have been egging him on, saying hey junkie scum cant see why kate went for you...if thats the case, the reporter deserved to be punched. hes a tabloids dream right now because hes going through problems. some of these reporters for the really shady magazines actually try to provoke the stars into doing something like striking out at them-just for a better story.

when kurt cobains daughter frances was born, one of the tabs ran a story called "rock stars baby born a junkie" and ran a pic of a scrawny, malnourished, sad looking crack baby, falsely making it look like that baby was cobains. anyone with half a brain knew it was bs, but there were also plenty of naive folk out there who were standing in line at the supermarket with their cart full of ho hos and frozen pizza, saw that cover, and clucked about that "horrible disgusting rock star and his nasty wife who did that to that poor innocent baby". some people just dont like to use their brains.

i do believe pete is somewhat self destructive-that doesnt make him a bad person. it makes him a troubled one. plenty of us have been troubled at some point in our lives, the difference is we didnt have twenty reporters following us trying to get our heartache and problems on film. i'm not saying petes innocent-he shouldnt have burgled his mates flat-but it seems that ppl just need someone to demonize and right now he's the whipping boy.
hopefuly he'll be ok, get his band together, clean up a bit, find a good gf (or bf) and be happy...and hopefully then the media circus will die down and i wont have to read another comment about "that horrible self obsessed junkie pete" or read a headline in a paper that says "PETE IN A SHAMBLES-THE LAST SHOCKING STRAW!". :/

Even if the pic was fake, Courtney was still a heroin addict - I don't know to what degree of course but still - and the baby was probably affected by it. Or no, Kurt and Courtney were clean living folks?

Of course, once a heroin addict got pregnant it would probably be much more damaging for the fetus if the mother tried to go through detox during the pregnancy. Plus, heroin babies are probably not at all as affected by the abuse as heroin babies - at least not from what I've read.

Pete has his problems, to be sure, just as Kate has hers. As has been mentioned, some of their problems are quite similar.

They are both adults and will have to figure it out.

I think it's a little silly for people to be outraged on behalf of Kate, who is no wide-eyed innocent, because of a boyfriend she chose who is several years her junior. But this has all been adequately pointed out before.

I hope both of them are able to keep control of their lives and continue to do the things that made them rightfully famous to begin with.
