Pictures Of Your Magazine Collection

Seeing all of these beautiful ways that people are storing their magazines is making me think that it's time I move mine out of the boxes and onto the shelves. I'm going to be sticking around this place for awhile so I might as well look at my beautiful magazines rather then having to go dig around for them every time I want to look at them. Once I do this I share the final results on this thread. Any suggestions on how I should display them on the shelf?

I have it and it looks really good, easy to find what I want, etc. In each box I put a different type of magazine, and I still have room for books and things :flower:

^That's a lovely storage unit. Shame I already have shelves in my room. But I'll keep this in mind if/when I re-do my room. Thanks! I probably should have been more specific about my question- I meant which way should I stack my magazines- vertical or horizontal. Or does it not matter?

Well, the Patron Saint of all things books and magazine, Karl Lagerfeld, says horizontal- which is the final word I suppose for we mere mortal magazine collectors!! B)

^Haha... well... I suppose Karl does know best! But I was thinking a bit more about it, and I wont have enough room on my shelves if I only do horizontal so I'll probably end up doing a little bit of both horizontal and vertical. Making this my project for tomorrow! :)

Everytime I look in this thread I feel so inspired to organize my magazines once and for all, but I think I will actually organize them this time. I need to set a deadline.

Is it taking magazine addiction a bit too far when you actually email magazine distributors about where to buy a magazine?

In was browsing through some old stuff when I found this picture of my old room. As you can see I barely had any space for my magazines. The entire bookcase was already filled so I had to make those huge columns of magazines as you can see, around the bookcase. It's not really clear in this picture but the pile of magazins you can see is in front of the bookcase. Next to it there's another pile and behind that pile next to the bookcase there's another pile. And on top of the bookcase were also two piles up to the ceiling. Thank god I moved out two years ago

Haha couldn't agree more. This thread doesn't just get people thinking about the magazines they want to collect, it also gets them thinking on how they should organize and present their collection, at least that's the case for me. Spent days thinking about a suitable spot in my house to place all my magazines... And I am excited because I have designed a shelf and have already sent my design to have it built. I designed it specifically according to the dimensions of my magazines so it's going to be a very custom made shelf, just for the magazines i collect.. can't wait for it to be completed!

Gonna share with you guys on my collection once the shelf is in^_^

^ I feel the same way! I will be moving (soon, I hope) and one of my main priorities is to finally get them all together and on display! So many of my magazines and books are in storage, I honestly have no idea how many I have!!

There are some amazing magazine collections I can see, I'd like to think that I'll never let all mine go as they are good reference to look back at in general and especially for inspiration being a photographer myself. Guess that day will come though when we all have to let our fashion magazines go, like it or not.

Anyway I'll upload some pictures of my magazine collection this December, letting them pileup and I have my reasons why this late in the year!

Hey guys, here's my collection from my room in my parents' home in France (the other half is in my home in Madrid, I'll post it later)

ah, i spy some david lachapelle! very nice collection :)

Thanks but actually the collection I have in Spain is even bigger and better with more Chinese and Japanese Vogue as well as many Spanish Vogue among other mags. Yeah the David Lachapelle's book is just amazing and I got it on sales in the fnac store in France as well as the one with Gemma Ward on the cover, called: "100 Contemporary fashion designers".

and here's a photo preview of some of my magazines, in my home in Madrid, that I've kept in my computer (following my previous post #883):

Sorry to pump up this thread without any new pictures.

I searched the library in my college and found an incredible Vogue magazine collection!:woot: What impresses me a lot is how the magazines are collected. Actually they are binded each 3~4 issues together with a hardcover. I think it's another good way to collect and preserve magazines especially you collect a single title of magazine every month for years.

I remember there's a thread talking about how to preserve magazines but I can't find it now.
