Thank you, Viktor Rieker!

A cover!!!!
There's also a 16-page editorial inside by Alan Gelati... I'm on holiday and can't scan anything, so here's a preview from zinio.com

The rest,

Ooh, thank you for the new material! I'm so glad Polina finally had the chance to appear on a cover again-- how funny that it's Vogue Russia, since that's the publication that gave her her start! Thank you, Viktor and Fiamm, for bringing us the news and pictures!

I really love the above picture of Polina too... she's got such a lovely, classical profile (though it's made even more interesting than the usual classical face due to her slightly edged nose) and it's nice to see her freckles again. I was half-thinking she'd lost them fully!

I have to admit, I still wish her hair wasn't so lank and pale in this editorial... I was starting to enjoy the blond hair due to recent pics where it was more of a honey color-- the ultra, ultra pale shade just doesn't suit her very well. Still, more pictures and more pictures and it's always good to see Polina work.

But is it just me or is the make-up in some of the photos (like the above) really, really bad? Her eye-makeup in some of the pics make her look like someone just punched her in the face and then smeared wine all over her mouth for the hell of it. She's so beautiful and pictures of her are so rare that it honestly aggravates me when bad face-paint makes her look so drab when someone new does surface. Sigh... first-world problems...

Very nice HQ photo! Though seriously, who picked out that awful smudgy black liner for beneath Polina's eyes? Poor girl seriously looks like she got done being punched in the face... AFTER she was thawed out from a block of ice to get those awful purple lips.

The photos where they kept her make-up more natural looking are MUCH nicer ones of her!

Amazing new cover & editorial! Thank you for the lovely person who told me about this .

Excellent find, Mascha! Polina looks absolutely gorgeous in these photos (her make-up, for once, actually highlights her natural beauty!) and I think the cool blue colors of her clothes and her outfits really make her stand out. (My favorites are the three pictures up ahead, especially the one where she's lying down.) I can't wait for HQ versions of these photos either-- higher resolution would be great. I'm looking forward to that! :woot:

I've never heard of this magazine before, btw... is Salt well known or is it just a trade magazine for Swarovski company? Where do you even get ahold of this magazine...?

Also, one of the pictures mentions that the model is Polina from Ash. Is that a new agency of hers or did they mean to mention Ace instead...?

Apparently, Salt is a bi-annual magazine for Swarovski, I think this is the third issue ever. More info in here: http://www.showmedia.net/salt/

That "Ash" thing, I was wondering exactly the same. First, it cannot be Ace, since she is no longer represented by Ace plus that's a Greek agency and I don't think this ed has to do with Greece. The photographer is Paris-based, so I'd guess this was shot in France (though of course I could be wrong). Second, I couldn't find a single mention about any agency called "Ash". So it's just a mystery to me...

Fiammifero thank u so much for keep this thread alive, always noticed Polina's new works with your contributions. Thank u so much!!

:woot: Everything works in that set.

Thank you Fiammi:flower: If it weren't for you this thread would be around page 300 or something.

IT is true, Fiammi is the engine on which Polina's thread turns... without her incredible ability to track down new work, we'd probably all think that Polina is out of the business by now. ^_^

Huh... weird! I guess the magazine must have accidentally put that in when they meant another agency. Just another strange mystery we might never solve. I swear, being a fan of Polina's is kind of like trapped in an episode of X-Files, albeit with admittedly minor stakes.

Also, a small question. Trump lists Polina's measurements as being 34-25-36, with a dress size of 6. (Presumably American size.) Are those the measurements she had when she was younger and still doing runway, or has she gone up a few sizes? I ask because I noticed that in this editorial, her arms and legs look a bit bigger than they did when she was doing runway. She's definitely not plump and I wouldn't even call her curvy... but her limbs are wider than they were before.

Is that limiting her modeling work? Is she maybe being hired less because she's not the size 2/4 she might have been before?

Back in 2004 FMD listed her measurements in inches as 32-23.5-34.5.

She's definitely been growing since then! :P Not surprising, considering she was... what, 16 when she got started? I guess she must have started around... what, a size 2? And grew over time. Which I suppose means she's never going to do runway again, which is a complete shame. All those HQ runway photos Fiammi put up of her on PK.com really make me miss those days. Especially the following photo, which I think is honestly one of the best runways Polina's ever walked. Her hair looked amazing, her skin was glowing, and her body was ridiculous.

However, recent pictures have been a great coping mechanism. :D

New Out-take Photos from Thomas Lohr!

Oh, and I have some lovely news! I had the luck of getting in touch with one of Polina's brilliant new photographers recently and he sent me some pictures of Polina to share with everyone! His name is Thomas Lohr, he shot Polina in the Secret Garden editorial just this year, and he was kind enough to deal with me after I emailed him out of the blue asking him for information on his work with Polina.

Thomas Lohr's Website: http://thomaslohr.com/site/

Thomas Lohr's Blog: http://thomaslohr.blogspot.com/

He gave us all a little more information on Polina as well. Unfortunately, he doesn't think he'll ever work with her again, since she lives in New York and she's in London. However, he did write that "she is a great girl, very nice and easy and totally down to earth." So now we have more expert testimony on her good nature. ^_^

And of course, the loveliest thing of all is that he let me have two extra photos of Polina-- out-takes from the Secret Garden editorial that previously went unused. I especially love the picture where she's gazing straight into the camera-- she just looks so serene and gentle in that photo. It's completely adorable.

I gave him a link to this forum as well so... Thomas, if you happen to be looking in, thank you for letting me share this information and these photos of her! And I'm sure the rest of Polina's fans thank you as well.

Should be "since she lives in New York and HE'S in London." Ah, basic English, when will I learn its tricks and tracks to the fullest extent possible...?

In any case, it's nice to see that I share a city with her after all! I bet she's probably set up in, like, Astoria or Williamsburg or something... that's where all the hipsters go nowadays. If nothing else, I doubt she's in the Bronx. We do tend to run short of modeling agencies in the boogie-down borough, after all...

Very nice work funnyfan! Those are lovely photos. B)
And you know your hipstervilles, as while looking some time ago for Polina photos or news I happened on an address owned by Polina and her guy in Williamsburg (Brooklyn).

Oh dear... her address is publicly listed? That doesn't sound very safe-- I wouldn't want MY address to be listed online and I'm not exactly as well known as Polina! Not that I think that anyone's about to go and stalk her but... eeeee, here's hoping that doesn't cause trouble for her. If I were her, I'd try and get that removed ASAP.

That said... I KNEW there was a pretty good chance she was in Brooklyn! Manhattan's too bloody expensive to afford, Bronx is too scary, Staten Island is out of the way and Queens can be kinda ghetto, so Brooklyn it is. I bet she's one of those people who, like, composts her trash and studies holistic yoga in her spare time. Brooklyn's full of people like that.

And I'm glad you enjoyed the photos! They're already up at PK.com too! Thomas Lohr was really, really nice in handing me these photos and letting me share them... I just wish Polina's other photographers could have gotten back to me! I was really hoping Phillippe Kerlo could answer some questions on her, since he's done three separate things with her and we have no idea what these things are for. But oh well... I guess we should just be happy anyone answered at all...

Next, I'm trying to muster the nerve to contact some of Polina's agencies about her. She's at Trump and Trump has a phone number and if I were just brave enough, I could conceivably call them and ask if they could volunteer some information on recent editorials or work. I'm trying to muster up the nerve but have no idea how to do so without seeming like the crazed stalker I just finish worrying about. Anyone have any advice about this?
