I actually don't mind the Instagram cover, there's something really "unpretentious" (that's not the right word) about it that stops me from rolling my eyes at it. It's better than putting her on the cover and calling her an "InstaGirl" or whatever Vogue US did for their September cover.

Grimes is so cool... I like the second shot more, her hair looks really neat. But the first cover is interesting, will certainly be dated in 10 years but that's almost part of the magic of it. It is a cover fully in the "now" and when people look at it at a later point I suspect they will know exactly what years it was taken in.
