Cover #1 with Lous and the Yakuza by Charlotte Wales:
Interesting image, too bad it’s ruined by the layout. The candy colours of the text don’t go with the image at all.
Wow, took them long enough to give her a cover. There's hope for Lean Chihiro yet.
I like the image, glad to see Charlotte back in top form. But I do wish the jewels were in gold and something like brighter like tanzanite or silver. One can hardly see the pieces and detailing.
The art direction is a big no. I've never liked POP's art direction. Too wannabe/try-hard, I get that they're trying to look edgy but it's way too cringe for my taste.
Wow what a great result! I love the typo, a bit M/M Paris, much better than the boring and repetitive Y2K trend.
could've been so good but why that stupid blurry effect... these magazines can't help themselves, how to tell them: every time you feel like the image alone is not cutting it and it needs something else.. it means you need to take something OUT, not add more to it.
Very Fifth Element, that stare is killer. Charlotte only really shines here...
Its a cool image. Very Pop mag in my opinion. I was skimming Spotify last night and saw her album listed. Think I will give it a listen now.
Charlotte, you are not Nick Knight. Please stay true to your own style. That is what we love about you!
Cover #2 with Emily Miller by Alasdair McLellan:
