Post a Totally Random Moment From Fashion History...

I can’t think of why the YSL Nu ad would be controversial in this day and age… aside from the Roman Polanski connection.

Today's feature from my "archives" (lol)... Karl Lagerfeld in Interview Magazine June 1975, interviewed by André Leon Talley. (Context, he was in New York to launch the Chloe perfume). Photography by Antonio Lopez.

Karl was put on a bland diet to quit drinking so much Coca Cola (10 - 15 bottles!!)

Do I have to say more lol? I'm still shocked as to why she fell, the outfit was comfortable the shoes weren't that big. She has walked far more difficult shoes on far worse shoes.
In my books this is the most iconic fall in the whole fashion history, Naomi's Westwood fall won't even come close.

Thanks blueorchid! 🤗

So interesting.

Karl picked Vionnet as his favorite couturier!

Balenciaga also adored Vionnet, to the point of purchasing Vionnet dresses (three in March 1924 and three in September) to deconstruct and analyze them, so that he could learn from the best.

And whenever I hear Vionnet, I am reminded of the dress cut in two halves by Cristóbal that you see at the beginning of the exhibition in the Balenciaga Museoa in Getaria.

Jacques de Bascher, although in the interview comes trough as quite petulant, must have been a fascinating man, to attract both Karl and Yves.

This fashion film in which Marion Cotillard apparently cured Ian McKellen's paralysis with her Dior fabulousness?

Rumours say that he was intially paralysed by MGC's Dior.

Thankfully it was from Galliano's era, so he never had to endure her.

Speaking of which, I also love this deleted scene from The September Issue in which Anna awkwardly suggests a name for John's new Dior bag and he is visibly disinterested in her idea. So cringeworthy 😆

Heidi Klum closing Escada SS 1999 show. According to Brian Rennie, her tiara had real diamonds and apparently, there were 10 security men backstage just in case
