Post a Totally Random Moment From Fashion History...

Am I the only one who finds Galliano’s voice practically insufferable to listen to? It’s painful it’s like listening to an actor practice a fake accent for a role, and it’s not quite perfected.
Yeah it's quite a noticeable affectation, I wonder what his real voice sounded like way back when...

Speaking of which, I have very much enjoyed all the Karl / Yves tales on this thread, but I'm surprised at how little mention there has been of Galliano / McQueen / Westwood etc.

Or the American greats like Halston, Calvin Klein, Ralph etc. No doubt there are some stories there!

Bella Hadid trying to recreate Kate Moss' campaign
twitter people who got all their education on fashion from other tweets (which always leads them to become model stans and of the most random runway fillers, say, Vlada).. they're just obnoxious and total revisionists.. that's a random picture from a random ed from ages ago. No one's trying to recreate anything, what does happen in fashion is the b&w w/ wet look combo.. a lot.

Speaking of which, I also love this deleted scene from The September Issue in which Anna awkwardly suggests a name for John's new Dior bag and he is visibly disinterested in her idea. So cringeworthy 😆
Thanks for that! her interactions with designers in that documentary (esp the one with Pilati) make you feel depressed about fashion and excited that one day, sooner or later, she'll be gone and no one will be able to have that level of power and arrogance because at this point she IS the archaic system and it cannot be recreated from scratch. But, that video is on a separate league.. the way she's pushing her generic suggestion like 'what do you think? 😏..😌'.. you can see in her eyes how desperate she is to pay herself a compliment using someone else's creation. 'Babe' 🤣. When some of these people are recorded brainstorming, or when you see how they dress, what they listen to, or just the way they talk, it's insane they get paid thousands of dollars to dictate trends and dress codes...

Anna sounds dumb in that video...the funny thing is that Gilles Dufour was fired from Balmain in the late 90s, because he dared to launch a t-shirt with "Babe" written on it...but if Anna names a Dior bag like that, it´s great and there is no problem about it...

Thankfully it was from Galliano's era, so he never had to endure her.

He ended up using the "Babe" Name for the bag.. I guess you can't really say no to Anna..

These t-shirts are kind of a "random moment" in and of themselves... "Balmain b*tch" seems like something that would work today

I love this campaign! The video got stuck in my head for years since I watched it first, the mood is so captivating and the Biosphere soundtrack works so well there.
