Prada Mens S/S 2020 Shanghai | the Fashion Spot

Prada Mens S/S 2020 Shanghai

It’s just comical at this point but that giving it too much.

This is late and dead on arrival. I already have most of this and if I still want this look, there’s not a lot here that I would feel like I need. It’s cute but that’s it. I see some styling tricks that I want to try but I don’t need these pieces to do.

This is Prada’s strongest menswear collection in a long time.
It’s not revolutionary but I feel like this time, they have finally found a way to achieve their commercial goals without diluting the fashion part.
We know why they decided to show their main collection in Shanghai, before showing it in their space in Milan...

Here we have a clear silhouette, a clear vision, something realistic but at the same time fashionable. Nobody is wearing the shorts shorts of the SS19 show, so this feels less gimmicky.
And while there are still a lot of products and logos, it actually looks like it’s a part of the story.
Great shoes, great sweaters...No tacky Frankenstein prints or furry shoulders...

I must admit that some looks are a bit Dsquared-ish but for the first time in a longtime, I can see guys wanting to buy this....Even if I find Prada a bit overpriced sometimes.

As a man, there's nothing that turns me off more than wearing shorts with a convoluted styling. Miuccia's distinct line between playful dressing and looking like a fashion victim has gotten blurrier every season. Especially when it comes to her menswear.

This whole 365 strategy has really demolished Miuccia's creativity. It looks like their design process starts with creating as much merchandise as possible and then working backwards to style it into a "cohesive" collection.
