I recall Prada's sales assistants in the shop being extremely chic back then... most of them wore the white shirt with contrasting polo neckline and collar with narrow brocade skirts and cashmere cardigans... It was just right and relevant to a lot of women, not just a fashion-savvy one. I much prefered when she was doing 'clean', the weird, crumpled, almost messy stuff she is doing these days are not doing much for me these days.
Thanks for posting those, I always enjoy looking through the Prada archives.
And actually, looking at this collection makes me think of the era of Prada's simplicity. Don't get me wrong, I adore Miuccia and everything she does, but sometimes I really miss the times when she didn't do the themed shows and the clothes spoke for themselves on the simple runway.
it's funny looking back to see this brocade idea keep bubbling up every couple of years. most recently, with balmain fall/winter 2010, and before that, at balenciaga spring/summer 2006. i'd love to see a fashion spread showcasing all three.
