if u mean clothes too.... buy some ralph lauren polos and lacoste polos... preppy can be like white tennis stuff with cashmere... just study what you think is preppy and kinda use it for inspiration... to be preppy always be well groomed... pearls dont hurt either

lol oh yea, those lacoste polos! i live in miami so the typical preppy girl will usually rock lets say...a pink lacoste shirt, a hollister jean skirt, and the sequinned japanese looking sandals (but those r dying out now-THANK GOD!)....Oh! and ofcourse, silver ball earrings, a matching pink ribbon, and a louis vuitton bag....actually, no...no louis vuitton....the big hobo bags with the 2 rings on the handle?? funny thing is that i own pretty much everything i named, except the bag. oh well lol

I just don't understand why people are so negative toward anything preppy... anyone have any ideas? Is it the perceived persona that goes along with preppy?

preppy is a life style... when i grew up i was in an environment with lots of preppy fans... to some people its a way of life... although thesedays i only wear preppy stuff for casual wear i personally think people who dress preppy come from good clean families... this is in general... think going to country club... or a day at the stables...

The reason that most people dislike the preppy look, as far as I see it, is for one of two reasons. They either hate the sell-out, snobby, waspy image that it was originaly intended for. OR they hate the fact that people are emulating a style that lacks originality. I personally live in the capital of preppyness, and it seaps into my personal style. I own cashmere cable knit sweaters, and a ton of polos, but I think that depending on your attitude these things can look very different on different people.

I agree w/ MjCouture! 'Preps' usually carry themselves pretty high which really does give off that "snobby" impression so most people kinda look the other way. i kinda like it though cuz the girls look very feminine and cute.
