Ivy League/Preppy Style

and I thought I was the only one who's into preppy.:p
to me RL is always always an element of my wardrobe.
here's my suggestions to play prep.

1. double layered polo shirts
(pink with green, or an easier combination: the one worn under should be matching in colour with the pony of the outter one.
i.e. if u wore a pink polo with green pony, then u could match it with a green polo. but the shade of green should be the exact one as the pony, otherwise, it's a bit weird.)

2. oxford shirts + cardigans/crewneck sweaters

3. stripes/rugby shirts... i just love stripes sooo much

4. dr. scholl's

5. pearls

6. loafers/flats

7. cropped pants

hope it helps. ;)

I always think of Lacoste when I think of preppy

+1. Timeless as well. I wore it a lot when I went to the Mediterranean last Summer. The quality isn't bad either.

^Yeah some are :D
It's not my dream style either but some pieces are nice and I couldn't find any other pics :( Stilettogirl, do you have some you could post?

I was trying to find some- Ralph Lauren's website used to have a lot of Preppy imagery. This is from the Tommy hilfiger:sick: website, but is not bad.

This guys outfit is very preppy to me

definitely GANT, Lacoste, RL, Paul&Shark... but preppy can be a no name white button down shirt with a (sleeveless) pullover as well ;) and loafers are kinda preppy to me too...

Ralph Lauren, La Martina, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger more or less, Gant, J. Crew, Longchamp and also Tod's. Basically everything polo... ^_^

I think the preppy look can look so sophisticated. It's a style I really like. I love v-neck jumpers, with smart shirts and ties on men and women - that style will never look dated.
Anyway, some preppy looks on the runway:

Ooh, thanks for posting! I like the second Lacoste pic, it looks so .. geek-prep? haha, don't know what it's called but I really like it

yeah geek-prep rules! :D (I've always called it nerdy prep)
I wonder how it is really classified, what I am thinking about is more traditional british (student) style with a modern twist ?
I love working with traditional british pieces, but I have a feeling that this probably doesn't count as preppy. stiletto girl will know :D

anyhow a rose is a rose by whatever name it goes ^_^

I'm in the mood for some pics ... old Ralph Lauren adds are quite preppy to me :flower:

Although i've been trying to escape my preppiness it's hard because it's such an easy, thoughtless look to pull off. Plus is v.comfortable.
