Private Shopping Events

Do you guys go? If so, what have you bought? What do you like/not like about them?

I will be going to one in a couple of weeks. It should be really fun, since most of the clothes there would likely FIT ME without alterations! That usually never happens!

Hiya writergal - I have been to a few of these 'private sales' in Paris at les Grands Magasins. Where have you been to them? Did you find anything nice?

My experience of them is great - the same stuff that they sell during the year but the prices are dropped considerably and the crowds aren't as big as during normal sale periods.

Hi Elizabeth!

I've sometimes been invited to these events, especially those held at department stores or boutiques. I've also taken part in fashion events held at event venues.

I was at Petite Fashionista Presents most recently and found a beautiful dress. It's the berry and black one in the fashion show (in the 30 second point) segment seen in the video below



These events, especially those at event venues are great if you're looking for designers that you might not find in boutiques. However, there's often limited sizing and product. They only had one dress in my size, for example (actually two. The other one was worn by the model)

I went once to a private shoe outlet arranged by some shop owners, agents and other people with good connections. Bought the Jil Sander flats and Marc by Marc Jacobs boots.

Wow you've done really well there writergal - I especially like those flats! I bought the top in this photo from a private sale a few months ago at Printemps in Paris and I love it!
