Proenza Schouler ss05

Style.com's reviews are always positive.

I'm somewhat torn; I wouldn't wear any of the pieces, but some are still quite aesthetically pleasing; for example, the dress on Dewi.

Are you making fun of me SG  or hadn't you heard that they had someone else make the clothes for their final.

not making fun at all...
:flower:

i never heard that before...but i'm starting to think the only way to get ahead is to lie and cheat and steal... :ninja: :(

which doesn't work for me...

As a fan (of sorts), I'm kind of disappointed. This collection has no spark. None of the looks are distinctly ugly... but on the other hand, there's nothing that stands out positively.

i like the prints...they're nothing new...as lena said...actually a bit retro...but retro in a modern way ...if that makes sense...

there's a bit of 1950's-60's elvis presley beach movie there, somehow...i see ann margaret...with the bustiers and the surf prints...i admit i kinda like parts of it....

I'm sorry, i need to post pictures of these guys, they're jus sooooo hot!!!! can i have them!!

ewy ewy it's one thing to wear it (the versions those girls have are sort of cute, actually), but it's another thing to wear it when your breats are *saggy*

I love this dress on Dewi:

really? i was just going to say that i LOVE dewi, but this dress is not flattering at all... most of their clothes dont look very flattering, even on models with 2% body fat. are they desiging clothes to be artsy or are they designing clothes for women to wear?

:P ...darling...i don't think they're saggy...i think they're "real"...we're so used to seeing barbie-like implants that we forget what natural breasts look like... ;)

and hotpinky...i completely agree...that gold dress is a definite 'miss'...but i think the collection has loads of wearable pieces...like the gold tank and shorts...and the jackets and skirts... :flower: ...and those hit two very different age groups...these guys are very smart.....very smart...just the fact that they have a 'signature' is smart... :P

i really think that proenza schouler is a line for real women. i think some of this stuff doesn't look right on the models because they are zero-percent body fat. those bustier tops and those dresses would look good on a REAL woman with REAL curves. and i think a large part of their design philosphy is about hiding the less-than-flattering aspects of a woman (you can see it in how they cut a jacket this season or how they had those tanks that flowed away from the body a couple of seasons ago)...
