there was a lot of tackiness going on and bad fabric choices. however i like that most designers had a unified overall concept. my favorites were april (well stylized), michael d. (interesting raw deconstruction), mondo, and valerie.. i only liked gretchen's hair choice. i was disappointed with andy's, was expecting something completely different.
 
I really like some of April's pieces. Though, she had a few stinkers. She's rather young no?
 
^April's only 21 I believe (maybe 22).

I think April's collection is my favorite too, very fresh. Though I didn't care for those head bands, kinda distracting to be honest and it didn't bring anything to the collection.

I also liked Valerie's and Ivy's collections. Complete opposites but they worked for me. Ivy's was very easy/breezy, ideal for New York. Valerie had some interesting pieces and I loved the colors.

Gretchen did good too, but it's just not my thing. Also, I can't see her winning with that collection. Not that it's bad, but it's just too low-key.

Mondo may have had a decent collection there but it was just overtaken by that ugly styling. Just no.

Andy's collection was the biggest disappointment for me. Didn't care much for Christopher's either. Those two had my least favorite collections.

Both of Michaels' collections were hit and miss for me. Michael C had some pretty pieces but overall his collection left me cold. Michael D had some REALLY cool and interesting work but somehow he failed to present it properly (was it the bad styling?).

Casanova showed just what you'd expect from him. It was tacky and shiny and tight.

it's how they keep who made it to Fashion Week from being guessed. So while 3 people always make to the final, they usually give the other 2 or 3 a free pass to the show, so people in the audience as well as people who view the collection from home (like us) can't tell who the final 3 would be.

so when they air the final, only the 3 people who made it will have their collection shown. but during NYFW, there would be 5-6 collections shown.
 
You know what else it is? I started noticing it cause last season they had the "Models of the Runway" show after the Project Runway series. They have bad models. People underestimate what a good model can for clothes on the runway. And when you have bad clothes on a bad model, it just makes it that much worse.

I definitely see some of them going for that John Galliano/Betsey Johnson/McQueen vibe with the make up and all, but I think you need to know what you're really doing (or can afford the work of Pat McGrath) to pull that off the way those designers do.
 
Please try to post photos in normal sizes, not in thumbnails, unless they're HQs. It easier to view the collections that way.
