Now this is an ad for a Citroen car, running in the UK, but I don't know if it's shown on mainland Europe -
I was taken aback the first time I saw it, I mean, they don't mention Hitler by name - and it could be argued that a lot of the symbols are from a period in German history before that time - but I wonder if the average British person is going to be aware of that. Are people are going to watch this, hear Wagner and think it's a comedy based on the Third Reich?
I can see that the point of the ad is to reinforce the idea that a French car can have the renowned excellence of German design, so the twist works - but at what cost?
