She shops local, opting for the Spanish high-street brands Zara, Mango and Massimo Dutti to wear with her designer pieces....

Her daytime wardrobe is mainly designed by Miguel Palacio, Adolfo Dominguez or Felipe Varela, while her evening gowns have been designed by Lorenzo Caprile, mostly. Her wedding dress was designed by veteran Spanish designer Manuel Pertegaz. She also wears accessories from Loewe (bags) or Yves Saint Laurent or Manolo Blahnik, Pura Lopez or Sara Navarro (shoes). Among international brands, she prefers Armani (her suit at the engagement was from this label), Gucci or Jimmy Choo.

Spanish Royals Host Gala for Dominican President

The Spanish Royals welcomed the President of the Dominican Republic Leonel Fernandez to the Zarzuela Palace today, May 18, 2009.
President Fernandez is in Spain for a five-day state visit. Part of his agenda involved seeking Spanish investors in his country. King Juan Carlos received him for a private meeting, before a gala dinner at the Royal Palace attended by the Spanish royal family.

Blue was the color of the day for the royal ladies. Queen Sofia’s choice was a light blue gown with detail on the lower portion of the skirt. Crown Princess Letizia was decidedly modern and young in a royal blue tube gown with an asymmetric strap. It’s nice to see the princess keep royal fashion in step with the times.
