Royal Fashion Friday: Princess Letizia’s White Dress

White dresses are not just for weddings, asPrincess Letizia so elegantly shows. Yesterday, June 25, 2009, the Crown Princess of Spain accompanied her husband Prince Felipe to the designation ceremony of the new honorary ambassadors of the “Spain Brand”.

Princess Letizia’s simple white dress was perfect for a summer event. It’s not just a plain white dress, of course. The fabric was textured, and the princess further dressed it up with a green jeweled belt (which I love!), dangly earrings, a tiny white purse and a pair of green snakeskin shoes. She also had what appears to be a green scarf, probably as a just-in-case-it-got-chilly precaution.



The ceremony was held in Mostoles, outside Madrid. The “Spain Brand” titles are awarded to individuals or companies whose activities Spain’s international image.

That has to be one of the best outfits worn by a royal in quite awhile. The white is perfect for summer, and I love how the belt, shoes, and scarf are all the green.

what kind of designers does she wear?

Letizia is mainly into spanish designers and aims to promote spanish fashion. Felipe Varela is a usual in her daytime wardrobe (ocassionally also Adolfo Dominguez) and Lorenzo Caprile does her night or gala gowns. Shoes are usually by Pura Lopez.

Spain’s Crown Prince Felipe and Crown Princess Letizia visited the Danone Dairy Factory and International Development Centre in Tres Cantos today.

The royal couple covered their street clothes with clean laboratory garb before taking a tour of the facilities. During the visit, they peered into samples under a microscope. The factory is located just outside Madrid.

I personally think she upstaged the bride at this event, this is one of my favorite dresses. The color, the shape, the accessories...everything was spot on and worked. She looked gorgeous.
