Question on stores and sales

As I am 1 hour away (not counting traffic) from upscale stores like Saks, BG, it is very hard for me to pop in and see about sales. I am curious which stores are known for having good sales on bags and what time of year would be best to check it out. Any info would be really helpful. I am the only person I know who spends money on handbags, so asking around gets me nowhere. I have aked a couple stores and they just give me the runaround.

I ask because elux is having a huge sale and I figure maybe other stores are too.

well neimans started TODAY and it was craaaaaaaazy... right now is not the best time to go calling around dept stores because they're pretty much swamped. you really have to know exactly what you want if you do call... but alot of them have the same merchandise. saks.com had an amazing selection of shoes on wednesday... it really depends on exactly what you're looking for. you cant really "browse around" over the phone...
