Ralph Lauren S/S 2012 New York

What are people complaining about? Ralph Lauren is famous for this. His label IS the quintessential classic American woman. Just like Armani is the classic Italian woman and Saint Laurent is the classic French woman. Yeah some of it is...unsavoury (like Mackos said, the pastel pieces are disgusting) but this is brand identity and it's American history. Why would you mess with that? His pieces are simple and classic and I find that his collections are never sugarcoated with flashy stage settings...*CoughLagerfeldcough*
Ralph don't ever change. Ever.

This collection is amazing, the color pallete is so beautiful.
It is so feminine and dreamy. My favorite collection from nyfw:heart:

Just lovely. Elegant, playful, soft, feminine... really pretty. I love it.

^ Yes, I am always amazed when the untrained designer who built what may well be the biggest fashion business in history is criticized for doing what made him great and putting together collections that no doubt sell out every time! What would the 'artsy fashion crowd' like him to present, some Galliano inspired unwearable dresses that no one can even walk in?? Most of the outfits are beyond beautiful and obviously there is a huge market out there for his products- it's a business, and he does it pretty much better than anyone- over and over again!

All I can say is that celebrity stylists must be really enthusiastic for the Awards season after this.

Absolutely divine. I was hoping for a full-on 20s revival this season, and combined with the oh-so-pretty and delicate pastel hues, this collection is to die for. Yum!!!

Yep, I would be the first to say that no one should automatically like the output of design house because it is the biggest or the oldest, but I don't think that many realize how big and how major of a label Ralph Lauren is and that depending on the metric, it may well be the biggest fashion label in the world.

Very Very 20's Dandy.....Love This collection 100% Very elegant yet very youthful and playful.
