Rebecca Hardy

I love those creative shots, they show off Rebecca's features perfectly in different expression. The styling is amazing as well, so is the location!

Rebecca looks truly amazing in those last shots. I can't wait to see her get more work :D.

Wow she looks so fantastic!! And she has a great body! But I really wish that her pictures were clearer :( Those are fantastic, though!! Thanks!

the second i seen her on the first episode of cntm with her bangs and long brown hair, i knew she was winning.
she just has that look to her. and i was so happy when she won.
i rooted for her since the first episode

She's ugly, and I really doubt that any agency in NY will take her... She looks so old and dated. And the haircut does nothing for her, not to mention her lack of a chin..

These pictures don't look fantastic, compared to what she is capeable of but I don't think she looks old. SHe can really disguise the lack of chin to make it look quite good.

^but there are so many more beautiful girls, with chins..

Yes, that is a good point. But she can work it and the pictures that she takes are good. Who knows? Maybe we'll see her in New York, maybe we won't.

I like MOST of Becca's new shots. She's pulling them off WAY better then most pre-NTM girls! Lol! I've still got real hope for her.

I don't believe this has been posted ^_^

Reality shows, understandably, subscribe to the time-honoured tradition of the archetype. Each contestant is assigned a dominant personality–the diva, the good girl, the klutz–and soundbites and superlative editing ensure that the image is rarely deviated from. With her brow-skimming bangs and instinctive style, Rebecca Hardy, this season’s well-deserved winner of Canada’s Next Top Model, became known as the “edgy” one–if you had a nickel for every time someone described her look as “very editorial,” you’d be able to buy a brand-new fall wardrobe.
The question was whether Hardy, always the model to beat, would be able to break out of her couture dress and into something a little more Cover Girl. The answer? A resounding yes. The night the world found out she had won, Hardy took the stage at Seven Lounge in Toronto to accept congratulations and questions. Someone asked the former meatpacker from Mannheim, Ontario, what her former colleagues thought of her new gig. “Oh, they’re great,” she said, with a laugh. “Some of the boys are coming around a little bit more.…” On the phone with FASHION the next morning, Hardy was bright, bubbly and full of excitement about the future.
What were you thinking when you were waiting for the decision to come down?
“I was standing there, heart pounding, hands sweaty. I was trying not to cry. It just meant so much to me to be Canada’s Next Top Model–the idea of not achieving it was terrifying. So Sinead and I were standing there, and our fate was literally in Jay’s hands. There was this huge long pause, and then my photo appeared. It was so intense.”
And how did you feel when you heard your name being called?
“I was so surprised–Sinead is tough competition. I was really, really counting on the Cover Girl shoot to go well. When I saw the photo and it had turned out really well, I was so relieved. That was my fear about the competition–that I could be edgy and editorial but not cute and whimsical.”
Was there a turning point when you realized you were really in the competition?
“Yeah, I’d say it happened earlier on, once I grew into my look–with my hair colour and cut–and was able to take that as a positive rather than a negative. It made it easier for me to feel confident, and then to focus on getting better, and on winning.”
Did you have a strategy?
“I tried to keep an open mind, and take the criticism as constructive. I tried not to shut down when something negative happened. I wanted to definitely just focus, and not get caught up in all the craziness.”
Who was your favourite person in the house?
“I loved them all, but I especially enjoyed the older girls–Tara, Gina and Mo. I could relate to them; they understood me better. Some of the other girls were 18, and I just turned 22–that’s a pretty huge gap at that age.”
Who was your favourite judge?
“They all brought something different and special to the table. I learned a lot from all of them. Jay is amazing; he really took me under his wing. And I love Jeanne Beker. But really, I couldn’t choose.”
Is there a side of you that people didn’t get to see on the show?
“I’m very athletic and a huge tomboy. I love to go do stuff with the guys. And I used to play provincial soccer. People probably wouldn’t have any idea about that, because we didn’t venture much outside of the house, except for challenges and model-y things.”
Who is your style icon?
“Well, my favourite supermodel is Linda Evangelista, and my favourite designer is Betsey Johnson. Style is trickier–I don’t really have an idol to look up to that way. I just pick things that I think would look good on me. I go to different places, and just put different pieces together. The other girls and the judges on the show sometimes said that I had decent style, so maybe it works.”
What’s your favourite shop?
“I find a lot of stuff at the Salvation Army or Goodwill–you don’t need to spend a lot of money to look like a million bucks.”
What’s next?
“It’s exciting! I’m just starting my career. I have my shoot for FASHION, and then they want me to go to New York, then back to Toronto. Very cool.”
Rebecca will appear in the October issue of FASHION, and we’ll have exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of the shoot!
Can't wait to see her in the October issue of FASHION :woot:
