Well, it's just personal preference, like how I don't love skinny jeans. I get that some styles of boots aren't supposed to be tight on the calf or some look good when they are wide. I wouldn't personally ever wear them, but sometimes other people can pull them off. But hers are really wide. I could stick both my hands down there at the same time! IDK, they just look sort of ill-fitting and too big for her.

I kind of get what she was going for with the chunky cardigan on top and the chunky boots on the bottom, but the execution doesn't quite work here IMO.

Those boots look good the way she has them, I don't think they would look good at all if they were tight.
