Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

^ Brioni has never been about fashionable stuff (except for those fantastic womenswear collections in late 2000s). The target demographic is very stable so I don’t see the need to hire him, it’s just not a brand that need a renovation, “if it ain't broke don't fix it” type of brand. Versace and Pilati is like night and day, it will never work 😅. I think his ultimate aim is Armani and probably CdG (Rei is his idol).

I even did not know Norbert actually existed at Brioni!
He’s in Haider Ackermann’s circle, worked under H.A’s Berluti and Lucas’s Lanvin. He’s actually talent and respected by many menswear designers, include Yosuke Aizawa from White Mountaineering.

Zegna was the same but it didnt stop them from taking pilati.

^ But it didn’t last long, as you can see. Stefano is very similar to Haider (Haider is more romantic and frivolous, while Stefano is more rational), both of them clearly want to design at a house with a stronger fashion legacy that aligns more closely with their own DNA. Ofc, menswear is basically free real estate for them because they’re exceptionally good at it. But in terms of impact and industry influence, Zegna or Brioni just aren’t the most desirable names if you’re trying to elevate your image or generate buzz — Brioni is even more discreet and purely sartorial than Zegna.

I just want him out of his berghain era 🤣 been way too long now, time to do some fashion again hunny.

Looking at blazy's chanel, pilatis flop fendi capsule collection was already giving the same energy.

Lets bring pilati in brioni... even Versace by him would be so interesting
Im not sure that Pilati would ever want to work for Kering anymore (he wasn’t really respected there too) but who knows…Mr Pinault is not at the helm anymore.

Umit Benan for me would be great. He is my candidate for Armani but would actually work there too.

That’s sad news ! Norbert at Brioni was very chic and always relatable - had few pieces from him and the quality is superb as well as longevity of the products, amazing base for elegant wardrobe. Hopefully he’ll find some other place to carry on with his vision…
