Reprints: Adverts/ International Editions/ Outtakes etc.

Here’s where to compare/contrast Vintage Editorial Reprints from various international editions within a magazine, or reprints used by another magazine title all together, as well as those used for advertisements, covers, and outtakes or other creative uses of reprints.

We can observe how different text, typography, and the overall aesthetic of a specific magazine (esp when comparing two culturally different editions) totally changes the whole mood of the same editorial.

Let’s try to keep things interesting by posting reprints that aren’t identical with some sort of aesthetic distinction and flair which sets the various magazines and their creative teams apart. Editorials containing “unseen” photos used in the reprint but not in the original ed would be great!

That 1998 Elle cover shot of Angie Lindvall had a few more iterations, including Germany and Japan.

The August 2000 Elle cover shot of Frankie Rayder was always one of my favourites, a gorgeous girl with a crazy technicolour sky behind her, as if it's the end of the world...

here are the 2 editorials you asked me to scan and upload...first is the US Vogue editorial by A.Elgort and then an editorial from Vogue Spain with similar photos, which were taken at the same time...not sure it can be considered a reprint as there is only 1 photo that is used in both editorials, the rest are different poses and even different clothes on most pics, but here they are, scanned by me:

and this most certainly counts as a reprint, in the context that the images all appear to originate from the same shoot and do share duplicate images. this was the ideal type of 'reprint' i was hoping to see in this thread!

I believe "Reina Mora" is an old Spanish term of endearment that translates to "my Moorish Queen." While the US version feels more portaity and premeditated, i prefer the simplified settings and more reflective yet fast paced feel of the Spanish version. sort of a glammed up National Geographic shoot.

I would think they all come from the same editorial...there is not so much difference between both editorials , yet they are somehow different...but there are many more images in the US version of the editorial and they vary a lot, so it is not easy to tell them apart. To me they have almost the same feeling...maybe the US version is a bit more simple. It is funny Grace used the same pair of shoes on a few different outfits, which i do not seem to recall seeing in an editorial. But those Prada(I guess) shoes pretty mush fit to all the clothes
I will do my best to scan more stuff!
