Anyone have any news on this? Details, details...

Rick Owens will début as director of the House of Revillon (est. 1723 ) during the Couture in July.

de la Falaise, Yamamoto, Alaïa, and now Owens for Ravillon will soon be stealing the Couture's thunder in my opinion. Why don't they show with the other RTW collection? (Lèna, I believe a friend of yours offered a plausible answer before... do you recall by any chance? )

I think I read that when Yohji originally made the couture switch, he wanted to escape the stress and drama involved with each Paris RTW week. Plus, I'm sure it's much better for production. As collections get delivered to stores earlier and earlier each year (fall begins trickling in late May, spring arrives in late December), I assume it helps to be ahead of the pack.

This is going to be one of the most exciting couture showings in a VERY long time.I can't wait to see Alaia and Rick Owens's efforts.Im sure they bothwill do very well commercially and bring a much needed breath of fresh air in to the to the showings. Both of their production in all honestly COULD not be better produced.What a great time to be alive!!
Change of subject,But I saw a geat Revillon vintage sheared beaver coat today.LOVE IT.

Hum you guys are talking about "couture",do you mean like "Haute Couture".Cause if my memory is good,Revillon is a fur compagny.Well in a way fur clothing is technically couture,since it's all made by hand.

Along with those other three RTW designers' collections I mentioned, he will show this collection for Revillon (as you mentioned a fourrier house) during the Paris Haute Couture shows. None of these four collections has the official Syndicale "Haute Couture" distinction.
