Rick Owens S/S 2012 Paris

Not a normal follower of Rick Owens, but there I saw some really lovely silhouettes.

Thanks for the video, girlandthesea! A lot of the jackets (esp in the first half) look kind of awkward tho, like an afterthought.

This is really good. Some people wanna complain about the lack of originality in fashion, but when they see true design, they hate it. SMDH

This is STUNNING, PERFECT, :woot: and shows the range of design and tailoring that Rick Owens is capable of. The cut is new, almost couture, complex, volumes are added to his trademark streamlined silhouette. There is something so clean and pure in this vision, and he's showing NG how Balenciaga could have moved forward gracefully with its archive of cocoons and futuristic collage.

It could be too early to say, but this is my FAVOURITE SS12 collection of them all.

i love the soundtrack, i wish i could find out what it is...

well---finally!!!...
something new from rick owens...

so refreshing to see something less droopy and drippy and drapey...
and just 'sad' looking...
:ninja:...

this is strong and clean and sharp and i confess...
i would wear a good deal of this...

maybe my fave rick owens collection to date...
i hope he keeps moving in this direction going forward...

His best collection by far. I loved the light flashes once the models were entering the catwalk. Felt quite organic but clinical in a way. I have to say that the footwear was really good and almost Star Trek reminiscent, even better than the clothes!

Beautiful. The really round shoulders are different than we've seen in a number of other collections, which emphasized a more boxy silhouette. I love his take on the "bell sleeve" or similar, as well as the drawstrings and origami-like geometry throughout. Fabulous collection from Owens this season.

I see what you're saying, and it was my first impression too of the collection. but then I think there is too little of the 'dark' side of rick that I soo love... :flower:

This started so strong from the austere, clergy first look but the graphic element at the end kinda kills it for me. It didn't really move me this time unfortunately, and I'm a big fan

The first time I actually like Rick Owen's stuff. He evolved to a softer side without losing his characters and now he includes more women into his design philosophy! I wish Gareth Pugh can do the same.
