i didnt expect to be so bowled over by these but i am. i have so many black boots but these have me totally smitten. i love that i can wear them high or low without crossing the tasteful line, they feel like a second skin...i may have to prune the black boot collection for owens sake.

the thing is rick owens transcends trends by actually setting the standard, their is no comparison once you experience it. B)

emma - wow, Century 21 and Rick! Lucky you!
I have a similar skirt, equally long, and I also wear it as a dress. So maybe try that option. Good luck :flower:

lucky: I had a pair of those boots and sold them... they were absolutely mind-blowing..!!!! congrats on such a killer statement piece :woot:

thanks much, appreciate the confirmation.

why did you sell jj? did you have the turbo's or these? they seem to be very easy to wear. even when the otk trend falls off i can see these having a shelf life because they look good scrunched down too.

luckyme - congrats! I was eyeballing a pair on yoox... these boots look fabulous on you!
Sigh....

Congrats from me as well. I once almost bought a similar pair (and still love the style) but not sure if I could pull them off because I'm short. They sure look great on you.

Nice! To be fair I wouldn't call Owens doing what is arguably a ****** boot tasteful but he's not trying to be. Still they got some punch and look great with Rick, Demeulemeester and Ackermann clothing.

true, anyone who makes a [urinating] wax statue of himself doesnt give a hoot about tasteful.

wouldnt wear with riding breeches as streetwear unless going to a madonna party, and then i would make sure to accessorize with a dressage whip.

^^
LOL :D
I sold mine because I had 3 pairs of RO boots and couldn't keep them all. I had the stretch knee-highs (the exact ones you posted), the turbo ankle boots with the portholes (like the ones that are on ebay now) and the winter version of the one PrincessImp posted a few pages back... I wore the ankle boots a lot more so I decided to part with the knee highs.

I am hoping to score a pair of the laceup turbos for this winter though.:ninja::evil:

those boots are fab!
ended up exchanged my long ro skirt... for a long backless dress in the same grey color!
(and thinking of going back to cent 21 and getting more:ninja:!
a coat like one of these that are a fraction of the price as on the yoox website.
