I know this is the shopping thread but i was wondering what others do about pilling issues? My cardigan is pilling and other than picking them off by hand i'm not sure what to do since i hate pilling.....

You guys are so right about the suede. I really love this jacket too what do you guys think of it? And on reflection, I think its more of a showpiece than the other style and it's in leather. After initial reservations, the husband is now loving it which is always a good thing ne c'est pas! Looking at it now - I have to have it....Pic catwalking.com

Meg, you could try a clothing defuzzer. Here are two examples:

I've only ever used the comb variety, as opposed to the electric one, so I can't really say how effect that one is, but the comb works quite well. You could also just skim it with a shaving razor, but with a thin knit like the Rick Owens tops, I'd be a bit frightened to try.

thanks! I used to have one back when i was little like the top one but the bottom one looks perfect! Thanks!

gill, here is the leather version of the first jacket you posted. I preffer it to the second one

What do you guys think of these jackets? Which is better? On the last one I'm assuming the part around the neck is seperate.

The second one and the last one are great, so it's a tie for me. Sorry, I know that doesn't help much, but either way you'll have a beautiful jacket! :)

Guessgirl, of the three you consider, the first is a big noo from me, the second is lovely, while the third is alright.

Guessgirl - of the three you posted I like the 1st and the 2nd - and not the third.

Thanks for the heads up on the leather version of the brown suede jacket. I'll probably put my name down for the two styles and choose when they arrive in store. Sometimes, they do things which aren't in the show which are lovely too so its good to keep an open mind.

the price

wow ... it's really coool ..

does any one know how much is the price???

I'm almost positive the shearling coats are going to be running in the $2,300-2,500 mark for Women.

^ not as bad I thought. I'm definatly getting one but I really cant decide which. It's especially hard since I cant try them on beforehand.

That makes more sence! i was thinking around 3000. 3300-3500 is a bit of a stretch but I think I can still do it.

soo, welcome to the board, you have a great eye IMO, #2 jacket is my favorite from the collection. I believe casius is on target with the cost. steep, but rick owens leather is unique, well-made and his shearling's are thick and substantial. please post a picture if you do manage to get one.

please credit your pictures which look like they are from style.com

well, there my rick owens-shearling dream disappears. I can't afford more than 2,500$ maximumly.. sad, but maybe i can find a similar one somewhere, or i'll be lucky at ebay

You could always try and find one during sale time, usually his jackets tend to make it to sales. (This is how I was able to afford one this Spring)
The shearlings certainly are something great!

Casius, that might be an alternative, yes. If i find a spring one on sale, do you think it could be marked down as much as 50%? And how much would it then be?

Oh yea, you can find them at 50% off sometimes. For this spring, most of the leathers retailed at $2100-2550 for men, $1950-2500 for women. So right now, most stores are doing 40% off sales, so they are around $1200-1500.
Barneys starts thier sale tomorrow on most designer items.
