Grill, I don't know if you checked the secret shopaholics thread.. the jacket did not work out for me... a bit to masculine.. i know what I'm after and that is not it. :(

I saw another RO jacket on NAP that i adore, and a bit feminine as well, but at the same time.. tough.. but I will go to Paris and have a look at the boutique there for a jacket.

Harvey Nicks don't order in the size 38, thay are starting at 40.. so I have no luck getting a jacket from there.

I will find a jacket sooner or later.. lol.

Hi Pucci - I am really sorry the jacket didn't work out for you. You should definitely check out the Paris boutique they of course have alot more styles and sizes than any of the other UK stores - as their prices are better than those in London.

Hey - I know this is the RO thread but did you like the leather jacket Alexander McQueen showed in this collection? The one with the scalloped edges - IMO it's to die for but of course it's gonna be more expensive than RO. I am too tired to find a pic of it at the moment but if you are as fashion mad as me you'll probably know the piece I mean...

Yes I know the one, Grill ;).. it's quite an "it-jacket" is it not? It was seen on kate Moss, and offcource then it gets sold out at once!

It was brown though, which is a colour I don't really wear.. but it's really, really beautul.. thin leather.. mm..love thin leather. You should get it if you have the chance!

I will be going to paris in september time, I can't wait, have a look in the Rick Owens boutique... it's going to be great!
Will update on what I get then.. I'm sure I'll get a jacket.

I posted this in the Shopaholic thread, but thought maybe one of you RO experts can help:

I just took the plunge at Barney's and bought the RO leather biker jacket in this taupy (weirdly almost olive in certain lighting) color. They also have it in a smokey grey. The thing is the price is $2170 and on NAP it's $1775 - a significant difference in my book. What should I do? I mentioned this to the SA and they said they couldn't match it since it was online. Does anyone know if there are different versions of this jacket at different price points?

Also, I'm going to Paris in a couple of weeks, so maybe I can find it there ... Pucci or anyone else - how is the RO boutique there? Well stocked, I hope!

It depends which size your after, I was waitlisted for the size 38 there, but they did not get it in so I had to go for a 40, but I got it from NAP in the end.

I heard that the boutique are quite limited in their stock.. they only got one in a 40, Barbra-the store manager said that there were a lot of people after that particular jacket.

I would not count on Paris at least call first.

Do you have a picture of the jacket? I would love to see it in that colour..:woot:

Hi Tiger1 - I have an RO jacket in the same taupy brownish-olive shade - its known in Owens-speak as Dust, and the darker grey shade - Dark Shadow.

Is your jacket exactly the same as the one on NAP - if so, and your size is available is it possible to return your original purchase and buy the online jacket??

I live in Paris and have been to the RO boutique a couple of times - they do have a range of leather jackets available but as they sell out fast they don't always have all the sizes in stock. Last time I looked they had the black leather biker jacket that Pucci has bought and some sheep skin jackets too. However, I imagine with Paris fashion week this week the store will probably be cleaned out by the beginning of next week.

The prices quoted for RO on NAP pretty much match those you'll be paying at the boutique or nearabouts.

Thanks, Pucci & Grill. Pucci - I PMed you. Grill - how do you like the "dust" color? Does it truly wear well with both browns and blacks? NAP is stocking only black, which looks too harsh on me, otherwise I would definitely just order it. And yes, it's the identical jacket, just not identical in price!

I suppose I'll go by the RO boutique anyway to see what is left after all everyone's picked through it all. Chances of landing a size 40/42 is probably zip ...

Hi Tiger! I love the Dust colour - I find it works as a neutral going well with both black, brown and grey. I saw the jacket in black and tried it on in the store - it looked really good but in the end I chose to go with a chloe black leather jacket. The only reservation I have about Dust and all non-black RO leathers is that they mark pretty easily and it shows...so you have to take care when wearing it. When I was in Paris approx 9 days ago they had both the 40 and 42 in stock in the black - I didn't try the dust colour but they had that too. If you want to get it from there I would try and give them a call and see if you can buy it over the phone - but I imagine you've already discussed this sort of thing with Pucci...

Thanks, Grill! Ooooh, I really hope I can get it over the phone and pick it up later when I'm there. I emailed the store manager, so hopefully she'll have some good news tomorrow!

Your Chloe jacket is beautiful Grill.. great choice..
